Trump is not a very likeable person.
I'm shocked some people see him as the poster boy for christianity. God forbid Trump is anyone a Christian would want to emulate.
A man with so many sexual assault allegations, a man caught on tape saying he just grabs women by their pussy and kisses them while on his beauty pageants shows?, a man who has consistently thrown insults at immigrants, other religions. A man who has been divorced 3 times and yet even his current wife can barely stand him to touch her.
He is a despicable character and that is why he is facing so much ridicule.
Not only is he racist, but also OPENLY supports racist associations like the The Proud Boys (who have racist and white supremacy ideologies btw) in a country that was built on slavery ffs, a country still trying to mend race relations. Habaaa, what kind of wickedness is that?
He's not the first Republican president with very orthodox beliefs such as anti abortion, antigay, but non of them were ridiculed like this. This is because they had a human element to them.
Trump lacks the empathy to be any nation's ruler and would fit right into Nigerian politics like a glove.
Do you know how many old people are glad he's gone? They were all living in fear and tension of not knowing what to do if he privatises and took away their Medicaid and social security in their old age.
You cannot successfully run a country like a personal business (which btw he also sucked at. 6 failed businesses and bankruptcies just to avoid paying all his debts)
He was all fluff and no substance.
He was just a fraud.

If not for human greed, this man shouldn't have been president. America is a country of migrants, he promised to make it white-only and they voted for him for that. White people built America, there is no question about that (even though on the back of black slaves), but that is not to deny the contributions of other minority groups in that country and America's soft powers around the world bringing hundreds of billions of dollars to the country each year.

Well they should celebrate with caution, this is extreme and not a rational way to celebrate the exit of a leader, who no matter what is said has grown the America economy to an appreciable level. I pray they won't have a cause to regret their actions the way Nigerians are regretting theirs and must so do till 2023. At least with Trump at the helms of affairs terrorists for once were jittery as they found their match in him. Even satanists have been frustrated and quiet for a while, LGBT's became fully aware no state support will be given to their weird and wayward lifestyle, gay marriages also took a nose dive unlike during Obama's who not only supported but made himself their errand boy. It's good to have someone like Trump who will forcefully knock senses into people's head once in a while. He may be imperfect and bedevilled with so many flaws so does Cyrus. Let's keep our finger's crossed and see how it all plays out. Despite Trump's shameful insistence to turn America's democracy into a global laughing stock, you have to respect America's institutions for their independence and strict adherence to their rules.

Immediately it became clear that Biden is almost certainly going to win, the Secret Service automatically extended their protection to him, even as the sitting President is still crying foul. They didn't have to wait to receive order from anybody; not even from the President. Processes are automatically triggered irrespective of whoever is involved.

As the President is screaming and threatening brimstones, counting of votes continues in states. He lacks the power to stop them. A whole President!

Several litigations brought by his team to stop the counting have been thrown out by the courts for lack of evidence.

Even the media cut him off when he started making unfounded allegations during a press conference.

I am certain that if Trump can order the military or National Guards to shut down those vote counting centers, he would have done so. But he knows the military will not obey such order because their allegiance is not to him, their C-in-C, but to the American people.

These can only happen in a country with strong and independent institutions; a country where institutions supersede individuals.

I see the events of the past few days as a test of the strength of America's institutions, and so far, they are have done quite well. They have proven that despite all its flaws, America's democracy is too matured to be held hostage by a power-drunk man.

A lesson for Nigeria , we don't need strong men , we need strong institutions!
