Hi Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to make a quick enquiry.
My spouse is 28yr old with an Msc in Agricultural Science(Fisheries and Livestock). However, I am not too certain if there is job prospect for this sort of discipline over there. I dont want us to commence a process that will end in premium tears. Cos left for me, am not bothered about leaving Naija, but my siblings over there wouldn't let me have peace.
She intends to commence the whole process tomorrow Insha Allah. I just wana know if its worth it. Thanks.

Hi Haruna,

The journey is certainly a huge undertaking, mixed with a lot of uncertainties, so I can understand your apprehension. However, it is possible that no one may be able to furnish you with the response you are expecting. This is because one size dosen't fit all. Immigrating means different things to different people. Some are at their happiest making this move, others are out of hope or luck for this country. Some could also claim that it is for the future of their children and co. You see where I am heading with these right? No one can tell you if it is worth it or not, because you are wearing a 'shoe' different from theirs. It may/may not be worth it, but ultimately, make sure you are doing it for the right reasons. Find your own reasons. If you cant seem to find any, please stay put in your home country. As for prospects, I cant speak on that because it is not always about your degree or experience. When you are starting afresh in a foreign country, extra employment conditionalities from that country may become one's bane. Canada is worth it for the right people.

I am a financial accountant. Please just help me look through it if u could

Sure. As previously mentioned, accountant under NOC 1111 has 7 duties. Put the relevant NOC duty number beside each of your 14 JD duties and share here......let the review begin.....can't think of any other "scientific" way to move forward.

For example, your JD says:

1. Prepares and documents monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for discussion with management = part b NOC duty 1 and 2 (see NOC duty 1 and 2 below).

1) Your MBA alone will give you points for Masters, which won't be enough to push you to the 470s considering your age.
2) Your wife in Mid 30s with HND might earn your family more points if both of you pass the minimum IELTS scores.
3) 15 Points for grabs here, had it been you have a sibling.
4) I'll advice you start your French early enough. As we all can't predict what will happen next.

As to your chances?
Learning French is your best shot considering your qualification and age...
Thanks

Dear All, I have been a silent reader, learning and using other peoples testimonies to keep the faith that mine will come. Kudos to all those who make out time to answer questions and make clarifications.

I am Dec 13, 2019, AOR, Sydney VO. My questions are as follows:
Is there anyone here who shares the same vo and aor and has received PPR recently?

I ordered for GCMS notes on the 15th of Oct and afterwards, I noticed that the webform link on my CIC account is nowhere to be found, this has been on for over a week now. is this a glitch or should I be worried?

Thank you mamaroon, It’s for my friend, we would research further. Thanks

Looking at the NOC structure I don't think NOCs starting with 4 would typically be working in a bank .....the 4 series look more like a public policy roles (I may be wrong). Check 6235 and any others that may be a better fit. Also, in the lead statement of the NOC they typically tell us where (what industry/sector) people with that NOC are likely to work.

In general, each NOC has several duties listed as bullet points. Number these bullet points from 1 to 10 or wherever it stops and then put the appropriate number beside your JD duties and repost. This way we should be able to see if most of the duties have been covered....or not. I don't know a better way.

Hello guys!

I made up my mind to go to Canada in July this year. I'm on 475 ( I submitted my application almost two weeks ago). The fear I'm having is with regards to medical admissibility. I have Sickle Cell (I hardly have a crisis as I manage myself well) and this has been a concern for me.

Is there anyone who has sickle cell and has gotten PR?? If yes, how did you go about it?

1. Manages the administration of accounting systems and prepare financial documents for departments, teams and individuals within organizations for various purposes.
3. Investigation, implementation and maintainance of internal control procedures.
2. Preparation and supervision of the payroll function and commission payments.
- Awareness creation of IFRS in the organisation. 2. Examines accounting information and prepares financial statements in accordance with IFRS for decision making for the management

We are in thesame boat. Submitted mine almost 35days ago, nothing from them. I really don't think sickle cell should be an issue tho

I don't know about CIPM but NOUN will take minimum of 1 year, about 160k. Not really stressful but between 13 and 19 papers to graduate grin

You need papers F1-F3 and an ethics module (foundation, I can't remember the exact course title). The ethics module you need for this diploma will be in your ACCA student portal and it's free. Write all these papers and you'll be awarded a diploma in accounting and business

Thank you very much

2. Prepares and documents monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for discussion with management.great
4. Reviews financial accounting records prior to submission of taxes, prepare income tax returns from the financial accounting records and submits to government as a statutory requirement by government.great
3. Analyzes inventory reports after periodic stock audit and cross-references figures to ensure accuracy of information and identification of potential variances.I don't agree that this matches NOC 3, may relate to cost finding and inventory but not very clear
7. Supervision of junior accountants and clerical staff responsible for putting together other financial documents such as inventory control reports, accounts receivables, accounts payables, cash accounts etc.great
5. Timely review of financial statements and provides advice on tax savings for both the organisation as a whole and individuals in the companygreat
3. Works with the Procurement team to review Requests for Purchase Orders, invoices, delivery and receipt of goods, and other relevant documents to ensure proper record keeping for the organization.I don't agree that this matches NOC 3, may relate to cost finding and inventory but not very clear
1. Manages the administration of accounting systems and prepare financial documents for departments, teams and individuals within organizations for various purposes. great, except for cut and paste issues
3. Investigation, implementation and maintainance of internal control procedures. great, but JD only mentions internal control
2. Preparation and supervision of the payroll function and commission payments.I don't agree that this matches NOC 2
- Awareness creation of IFRS in the organisation. 2. Examines accounting information and prepares financial statements in accordance with IFRS for decision making for the management. great

Please take my comments with a pinch of salt, NOC is subjective and these are just my efiko views, abeg no vex.

a.I assume the numbers at the beginning are the NOC bullet numbers
b.Comments in red above.
c.item highlighted in bold is quite similar to the words used in the actual NOC and may be considered a cut and paste.
d.NOC 6 is missing but not a big deal because it starts with "may", in my view those duties that start with "may" are not essential duties
e.NOC 3 is partially covered, the JDs about inventory don't really highlight "cost finding and reporting procedure" if that's what you were going for. perhaps it could be reworded to make it clearer.
f.final verdict: a fair match if you fix the clarity on NOC 3 JD description

Good luck!

Hello everyone. To be better prepared for 2021. Start studying French to write TEF Canada. Use your time wisely. No one knows the trend for 2021. Invest your time learning French. the time used to wait for lower CRS scores can be used in getting almost 500 with French. Make your enquiries now and prepare for 2021. All the best everyone.

Hi guys,

I need your opinions please,
I have a total of 3yrs 10months of work experience in 2 very similar roles (both HR roles) but different NOCs.
2yrs and 7months in NOC 1223 and the remaining 1yr and 3months in NOC 1121.
Can I claim 3yrs of work experience with both NOCs together? Considering the fact that all 3yrs of WE aren’t in the same NOC

Haruna, I’ll advise you give it a shot. You can also read this - https://www.google.com/amp/s/moving2canada.com/agriculture-jobs-canada/amp/

99.9% of everyone who immigrated to Canada had some sort of apprehension at some point - the fear of the unknown, starting a new life in a new country, cultural and climatic differences, finances.., the list is long.

The good thing is, you can always come back if you’re not satisfied with what you experience in Canada. Some actually come back after they get their citizenship. Besides, you’ve got siblings there, so settling in shouldn’t be a problem.

You’ll never know what it’s like there unless you move.
