Firstly, Akwa Ibom and Cross River were never part of old Rivers State.

Secondly, what is happening is between IPOB and Wike or in extension between Igbos and Ikwerre. It is never an issue between SE and SS, because if push comes to shove, we Igbos in the SS will definitely side with our blood brothers in the SE.

NOTE: It is the South Eastern State (Cross River & Akwa Ibom) and the Old Rivers State (Rivers & Bayelsa) that were created by General Yakubu Gowon out of the Old Eastern Region on May 27, 1967, leaving the East Central State (now divided into 5 states) for the Ibos and the Igalas (Igala bloodlines are indigenous to Anambra and Enugu states).
