Boko Haram: 6 Nigerians Jailed In UAE Can Approach Supreme Court – Abike Dabiri by drinoayo: 5:07am On Nov 10, 2020
Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) Abike Dabiri-Erewa says the six Nigerians who were jailed in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for funding Boko Haram can appeal to the Supreme Court if they wish.

She tweeted this on Monday following a report by Daily Trust about the reaction of the convicts’ families.

Igbere TV reports that Surajo Muhammad and Saleh Adamu were jailed for life while Ibrahim Alhassan, AbdurRahman Musa, Bashir Yusuf and Muhammad Isa were sentenced to 10 years in prison each to be followed by deportation.

Stating the commision’s position on the Nigerians, Mrs Dabiri-Erewa tweeted on Monday: “6 Nigs convicted in the UAE for wiring $782,000 to Boko Haram. Abubakar Muhammad and Saleh Yusuf Adamu got life imprisonment while Ibrahim Ali Alhassan, AbdurRahman Ado Musa, Bashir Ali Yusuf and Muhammad Ibrahim Isa, got 10 years. They lost their appeal.

“They can approach the Supreme Court if they so desire, as we continue to appeal to Nigerians all over the world to desist from crime and criminality.”

A court found the Nigerians guilty of setting up a Boko Haram cell in the UAE to raise funds and material assistance for the insurgents in Nigeria, Igbere TV reports.

It also heard they transferred up to $800,000 in favour of Boko Haram between 2015 and 2016.

A Court of Appeal upheld the 2019 judgement by a lower court.

Is it not disgraceful the monies were wired from here without a trace to a criminal sect that has killed in millions directly and indirectly, but a country out of sympathy and goodwill decided to help. You should be asking for intels from UAE so you can help your citizens and soldiers live long lives.

Its amazing the CBN, immigration, Police and courts are not as swift as they were with the endsars protesters bank accounts, passports, detainment and court injunction for over 4 years, for a matter that has consumed over 30% of the nations resources with $1bn going to tucano jets paid in 2018, to be delivered in 2021.

The CBN/EFCC have been check mating international transfers leaving the country beyond a threshold, while at a time reducing card daily limit withdrawals, but almost $800,000 terrorist funds and ransoms went through without a red flag.

Bokoharam is definitely a cash cow to certain political interests..

Immediately FG reacted to this news, same FG that will take eternity to react to any important issue affecting the country. This shows that if they have the power, they will release all of them and tag them repented Boko Haram sponsors.

The government of UAE was able to identify those sponsoring Boko Haram and sentenced them to various jail terms accordingly. The question now is this, why is it so difficult for Nigeria Government to identify the Sponsors of Boko Haram in Nigeria. Could it be that they know what we don't know?

What if she is a sympathizer? I doubt that simply because she is a female and from South West. Many male Muslims from the North are.

Appeal in Nigeria's Supreme Court so that they can obtain kangaroo judgment proving them innocent because Nigerian justice system is cash and carry. why don't they appeal in UAE where they were tried and jailed

Wahala be like bicycle in this country then..

Coz the only rational reason I think BH sympathizers have is being from the same ethnic group.. What foul reason will she have to support such a murderous group...

But for now, I hope that is not the case and she's just been overzealous with her portfolio

Because elements within the Federal Government are cashing out from the "fight against Boko Haram".

So this ugly monkey of a woman is encouraging convicted criminals, I mean criminals found guilty of sponsoring Boko Haram to appeal in the Supreme Court so the government can free them?!

The same ugly monkey of a woman forgot to profile their ethnicity as she often does if it were about a section of the country. Such a useful idiot.

SMH!

If this terror supporting government and its cabinet members are not tried and convicted for war crimes eventually, then I will know the world has gone bunkers.

There is extreme levels of crimes against humanity going on with active support of those that should fight against it.

Boko Haram apologists are pressurizing this woman and FG to intervene because I wonder why she would be giving legal advice to sponsors of killers when we all are suppose to be jubilating that they have been exposed

For Lying Mohammed, Garba Sheu and Buhari to have remained mute since the news broke, it means they probably have a plan to negotiate with UAE if they could release those people.

This government covertly support terrorism

Yes they have killed millions directly and indirectly... when you kill the breadwinner of a family of 15, or the farmland of a community. you have indirectly killed them all.

About their innocence... the case has lingered since 2016 in a sane country without reckless adjournments and corruption. While they are seeking innocence, we should be seeking intels to trail other syndicates in their ring rather than spending $1bn on a Tucano fighter jet paid in 2018, arriving in Oct 2021...
