I am not a plumber but I am going to suggest you engage the service of a plumber. The Picture one did not give room for one to bypass the filter if you decided for whatever reason e.g. lack of fund or filter availability or change of mind
picture B is what I have and it allow me to bypass the filter when my madam decided she preferred bottle water to the filtration . it is just a matter off pulling up A and closing up B and C

Chief, please where did you buy this White Filter and for how much?

Oga I hail,
From Abakaliki that I don't know, but from Cross river is +/- 330 to PH. Due to bad road ur granite can be delayed by 1 or 2 days.

However, There is a Chinese company after Port harcourt Refinery that crush and sell granite of different size. The rate is 10k per tonne, then u negotiate transport to ur site separately. E.g to deliver to Ada George area of PH is like 40-45k. To Uzoba and Choba area is like 50k. Try to negotiate the transport to ur best ability.

Hope this help.

PH is a different world entirely. It’s not getting cheaper at all.

People like you will be smiling when you’re reading the diff stories on this thread. cheesy

Gold is the word.

i have move chippings from Edo to PH...

I remember. That’s what nearly prompted me to ask if you can deliver to PH.

The cost is just a part. The road and the task force issh is something else to deal with.

Going by my experience last week where a portion of my living room PVC ceiling collapsed, I'm not going to advise you use a PVC if the building is yours. Except it's a temporary measure pending when you can afford a better alternative like a POP or the like.

Thanks for the info

Port-Harcourt pick Granite from Calabar no Quarry in PH.

Transportation cost from Calabar is over 170k for 30tons

Don't sound so sure if you're not sure of something bros.

When last were you in Port Harcourt? I'm telling you I personally used my 2 legs to buy granite and you're insinuating that it's a lie? That's disrespectful please.

Goodmorning everyone. I am a newbie in this section and would want to seek clarification on this issue.

My family is building a story building of four flats of 3 bedrooms each. We are at the decking stage now. However, the supervisor handling it is advising us to use 10mm steel rods for this decking as this steel rod is stronger than 12mm rod and can carry the weight comfortably. This is different from what I know with my little building knowledge.
So I decided to come here to seek expert opinion on this.

Thankyou for expected comments as I know I d definitely get the best advice here.

Hmmmmmm...

10mm can't be stronger than 12mm from the same manufacturer.

Even if your supervisor is trying to be minimalist, the 'decking' stage is NOT the stage to cut corners.

If the house caves in, he will run away and leave you with debts.

Since you have an approved structural design, stick with it. If you don't, say it now o.

See what I’m saying. Today 10th Nov. 2020 I bought 10mmm rods for a project. See the attached picture. The 10mm from LCI and the 10mm from NL are not the same!!!

I had to return the 10mm from LCI to get 12mm even though the recommended top bar was 10mm.

I hope the pictures can show the difference.

Thank you bros.

I really dont like when people try to form Lord over any aspect of life.

We learn, we re-learn because changes occur every day!!!

What's the point of going to Calabar to get 30tonnes for 340 to 350k when it will take 2 days, several task force delays etc to get to PH when I can go just after Akpajio from Odani junction which is a 10minutes drive to get a metered chipping.

I don't buy from Eleme junction because there's no metering.

Please tell him there is a WEIGH BRIDGE at the dump site near Eleme Petrochemical.

I rest my case.

That is what I think I can afford. Pop is on the high side for me.

I love people who are honest with themselves. At a point in one of my personal build, I couldn’t afford POP so I opted for PVC in all rooms but kitchen (I had slab in the kitchen).

A year later, I removed everything and installed POP in every room and screeded even all the walls.

I did that when I know I can afford it.

It’s not PVC that’s bad. Poor installation, lack of good maintenance culture, and trying to cut corners are always the major cause of problems.

PVC is present in various elements, from toys and tools to some construction materials and it’s not as if they just without a cause.

I can still share a ten year old external ceiling PVC installation. It’s still standing firm and solid.

I have one like this on here. I have to check though.

We use the combination of amoula pvc and POP.

In actually fact, one of my latest work in Chevron had PVC elements. The ceiling is not the conventional designs we see around. I’ll try to share now.

The project is underway.

Sorry I had to take a screenshot of the bill from phone. All the materials used are PVC elements (not the regular pvc though)

The company supplying me is a Chinese company.

Speaking on the first pic alone because it looks like the abroad then I’ll wager that you’re looking at 100% wood, not PVC. Exhibit 1

No home inspector will approve a kitchen with PVC in at least California due to its fire performance properties.

You’ll find PVC on the exterior on low budget builds and in non fire prone areas. Exhibit 2

I’m still open minded to learn because knowing you, you’ll dig up a interview of the architect/builder confirming that it’s PVC grin

Good day Experts,

Please how many bundles of Nigerian PVC do I need for the ceiling of a standard 3 bedroom bungalow? How much is the current cost?
Thanks .

Let me preface by stating that it’s your project and only you know how you’re making it work and you can do what you want.

That being said, please don’t use PVC, at least not inside your house.

PVC is a proven to cause cancer. Period.

Also the way it burns causes fire to spread quicker and gives off noxious smokes. It’s the smoke that kills more than the fire. If it just burns then it might be managed but it spreads fire by running and dripping.

I too succumbed to the Nigerian factor and used it on the eaves of my roof during construction. It was one of the first changes that I did when I started living here full time.

We have an unregulated building condition in this country and it’s on us to keep ourselves and families safe by trying to follow best international practices.

The Chinese are not the benchmark to be used especially the mostly inferior goods that they dump in this country. A lot of their crap shouldn’t even be available on the market so as to remove the potential temptation from purchasers.

I’ll now get off my soap box.

Good luck on your project.

Nice choice in my opinion. Especially from the most solid wood and the bricks ideas for the frame. I'll be following your progress as am looking at such entrance door too.
Wishing you God's blessings.

This is not a low budget material. It’s 5 times expensive than conventional POP ceilings.
