Border Reopening: 'Why Refuse Others And Allow Only Dangote?' - Atedo Peterside To FG "Nigerian Economy Is Rigged In Favour Of A Handfy Of Well-Connected Persons" - Atedo Peterside Frowns At Reopening Border Only For Dangote Nigerian entrepreneur and investment banker, Atedo Peterside, has kicked against the Federal government's decision to grant only Dangote cement access to export and import items across the borders, IgbereTV reports. Recall that 10 months ago, the Federal government closed borders with neighboring countries including Benin and Niger to curb smuggling and boost local production. Bloomberg reports that the Buhari administration has given its authorization for Africa’s biggest producer to export cement to Niger and Togo in the third quarter for the first time in ten months. Reacting to the development via his Twitter handle, Peterside said such a move is why some Nigerians argue that the Nigerian economy is rigged in favor of a handful of well-connected persons. Peterside wrote: ''Allowing legitimate exporters & importers to move their goods across the border should be a no-brainer. Why refuse everybody else & allow only one company (Dangote)? Dedetwo:I wonder the type of humans we have in southern Nigeria. Despite all the way the fulanis are treating them, just accuse an Igbo of any crime and you'll see how they quickly forget their losses from the fulanis and rather focus on Ndigbo even when the said individual might be acting alone. I wonder if it is witchcraft at play or if it's a mental problem. Fulanis have killed scores of people from all regions in Nigeria. They've threatened all regions to surrender their ancestral lands or else face unrelentless attacks but yet no backlash has been visited on them. They've sacked almost all the ethnic groups from core federal positions and replaced them with their own people yet same southerners will still cling to their oppressors. Buhari publicly threatened bloodshed before the 2011 election and when he failed, youth corpers all southerners were slain on national assignment. He wasn't even arrested nor interrogated. Rather, he was rewarded four years later by the same southerners to become a president. How then do you expect such a man to view the southerners? Of course he'll have no iota of regard for them. Today, the organisers of the end SARS protests are being witchhunted and yet politicians from the South remain quiet. Tell me; if these politicians can't speak for the organisers of a peaceful protest, is it when the youths from the South go it violently that they will stand in their defence?
