Europe doesn't have much skyscrapers simply because they wanna protect some of their historic buildings. For example, in Paris the tallest structure is the Eiffel Tower, from the top of the tower you have an unrestricted access to the skyline. Now imagine if there was a structure as high as Burj Khalifa in Paris, it would hinder the view from Eiffel Tower.

Personally, as I read that topic, what instantly popped into my mind was population; yunno, Europe isn't as densely populated as America and Asia, if otherwise had been the situation, in my opinion, I think they'd not have had any options other than to build skyscrapers as well.

I once was a student of art and architecture, all we have now are blurring pictures, that's if it was acknowledged.

1.Low-population-Europe doesn't have that booming population that needs skyscrapers

2.Already developed -skyscraper is modern architecture when it was created majority of European cities already existed and they were all developed,Europe has a long history of organized cities and architecture

3.Culture/preference -In Europe skyscrapers aren't that valued and they want to preserve their cities,landscape and architecture if they start building skyscrapers everywhere because Americans did it then many of their historical architecture would be lost.

NB- developing african countries should learn from europe,instead of trying to copy america or china build cities like europe is cheaper and better environmentally.

It is mostly because of the underlying geology. Most of the European countries sits on soft rocks.

No. When i say charm, i mean the value and respect they have for their heritage and culture. And it can also be referred to as the beauty of their old historical structures.

Asians have their own kind of cultural structures not necessarily skyscrapers which is more of "SHOWOFF" than needed but America on the other hand have no history, so they just look for things to fixate on.
