I don't know.
The host can be hostile sometimes. The day you leave the borders of Nigeria, You become a foreigner. Existing as a foreigner is not easy

but they have better power supply
security is better
ability to thrive exist.

Opportunities abound for medical radiographer.

Alright. I asked because you mentioned in your earlier post that it's a poor country and wages are generally low. But i assume you are doing better there than in Nigeria.

You can study. You just pay more as an international student. 5k USD for medicine. I don't know the tuition for other departments. There are Nigerians studying medicine here. UTG is the only accredited school. Don't bother with aiuwa

This is my candid advice for you, Op and others looking to migrate.
Gambia is a mono economy solely dependent on tourism. With a very small population/implying that the market is equally small. Minus the foreign tourist trooping in and Gambia is DEAD. Lets pray something of the Covid19 magnitude doesn't repeat.

If you are in the medical field or planning to join, I urge you to grab a Nursing certificate first from Nigeria. There will always be a HIGH demand for nurses no matter the country. Apply to any of the state schools of Nursing in Nigeria for the 3 years Diploma, on graduation you can secure a job in the UK and achieve citizenship within 3yrs. I need not explain the advantage of the citizenship.
So its important to be strategic in planning your migration.

Food for Thought:
Do you think a Nurse working in Nigeria could ever accept to work in Gambia?

At your last question, why not?
Most of these African countries that are smaller to Nigeria on paper have better renumerations for their health professionals.
You think the OP that migrated to Gambia is not better off than when he was in Nigeria?

My cousin who is an imaging scientist got an offer in Sierra Leone in 2017. Two years contract with a pay of $20k per annum with 5% withholding tax.

This is very true. I was extremely shocked when I heard what doctors were paid in Liberia. I have been to Liberia and Its a shithole amongst shitholes.

Find employers in your respective sector. Mail them. That's what I did
Is there a specific website to get the employers or just a random google search?

Just like the OP said UTG is the only university in Gambia although there’s this American International University. Gambia is good for someone who has a handwork e.g Tailoring, it’s easier to make it and also for people like the OP who studied a good course, we have Nigerian Lawyers, Judges and Doctors here. And also Teachers that can teach science subjects.

Plumbing job doesn’t come every now and then, but the longer you stay, the more you meet and connect with new people. Your teaching job also will help you, it depends on the kinda subjects you can teach.
