For those who don't know Phrankleen, he is practically the only visible person on YouTube who has a platform for discussing diaspora issues. However, he is extremely biased and highly irresponsible with the kind of information he puts out there and is deceiving thousands of gullible folks abroad.

These are my top 5 Reasons why Nigerians and other Africans should be careful with this guy:

1. Hypocrisy
When it comes to the issue of "Moving back to Africa" Phrankleen is the BIGGEST hypocrite of them all. There are numerous videos on his channel where Phrankleen can be seen talking about how blacks are 'second class citizens' in the West and how we should move back to "live like kings" in our motherland.
Yes its true that we aren't exactly first class citizens abroad, however, Phrankleen will not tell you that the average Nigerian is NOT a first class citizen in their own country either! A country where there are very little career prospects for the youth, where everyone is forced to become an 'entrepreneur' doing petty trade for a living like small chops, hair, makeup, barbing, poultry etc.., a country where you gotta know someone who knows someone before you can get anywhere, a country that treats Lebanese, Chinese and Indians more favourably over it's own citizens, a country where a rich man can use the police to oppress you, where law enforcement harass, extort and assault you. No, Phrankleen will never discuss these issues because it will totally flaw the ridiculous "African Utopia" agenda that he so desperately pushes.
A major red flag his followers fail to ask themselves is: why is Phrankleen sitting pretty in the UK and asking YOU to relocate? Why hasn't he relocated himself since Nigeria is such a paradise?
The irony is that once the whole #EndSars debacle gained traction, Phrankleen found himself having to fess up to how jacked up Nigeria truly is.. however he wasn't gonna go down without a fight.. he still found a way to somehow reinforce his hypocrisy by doing what he does best which is to attribute ALL of Africa's problems to the West. Hence my second point...

2. Blaming 'the West' for Everything - Lack of Accountability
Phrankleen loves to put out the message that Africa is in the state it is in because 'the West' have intentionally crippled the economy in order to drive us out of Africa so that they can takeover. Now while that might be partly true, common sense doesn't tell Phrankleen that the West has no power to do anything in Africa that our GREEDY LEADERS don't allow! A camp divided against itself will surely fall. Is the West responsible for the day to day violence, corruption and nepotism that we met out to each other on a daily basis in our own country?

Imagine, this same Phrankleen can be seen talking from two ends of his mouth in a recent video on the #EndSars saga where he urged Nigerians to appeal to 'the West' to intervene in Nigeria's matter! The same West that he preaches against and tells us they are solely responsible for the decay in Africa? The saddest part in that video was when a viewer called to call him out on his hypocrisy, Phrankleen did what he does even better! he cut him off! Which leads me to my third point....

3. Extremely Rude & Childish Behaviour
Phrankleen has a habit of cutting people off during his live call in shows. He also deletes comments and blocks anyone who speaks up for the truth. Even those who simply state that Nigeria is not as perfect as he claims, he will quickly delete the comment before more people see it.. why? so that no one can spoil his ridiculous narrative. Phrankleen is also extremely rude and insulting towards anyone with a different opinion to his. Despite being in his late forties, he is a spineless coward who can't take any slight criticism and results to childish and feminine attics when he doesn't get his way.

4. A few of his "stories" are made up
Don't get me wrong, some of his stories you can tell are genuinely written by viewers... however, Phrankleen has at least 3 or 4 "storytime" videos which anyone with a discerning mind can tell are bogus, made up stories, concocted for the sole purpose of spreading his pathetic agenda. From his videos you can tell he is someone who has been dealt a bad hand in life - possibly looked down on by family members back home as he isn't doing so well for himself. Therefore, he has made it his full time job (via YouTube) to speak ill of family members of people abroad, how they are all scammers back home, how they judge you based on what you have achieved etc.. to the point of even concocting stories that make no sense just to vent out his inward vitriol.

5. He is bitter and spreads misinformation that could destroy the lives of gullible Nigerians.
Phrankleen lives in a council house of which he pays £400 a month (dude admitted this himself) - he is broke and YouTube is his bread and butter hence why he is selling lies and manipulation for profit. Phrankleen also has an ongoing case in court where he is claiming to be a victim of prejudice.... now anyone who has gone to court before will know it's a highly stressful procedure and can affect one's mental stability.
I write this piece really as a warning to gullible folks out there who may want to make life-altering decisions based on what this charlatan called Phrankleen tells you - do you really wanna take advise from a broke, bitter soul with a skewed perception of life? Don't let that British accent fool you, he is rotten to the core!

Bonus point: Phrankleen is covertly jealous of successful Nigerians abroad and often speaks ill of Business Analysts, Project Managers, IT contract workers etc... and criticising how they choose to spend their hard earned money!

There are more than enough platforms already painting africa black. There are things you would come in western press and you would wonder if it's the same african continent that is being talked about.
A change in narrative and rebranding is needed and welcome. If he chooses to focus on the positive and paint africa as el dorado, good for him . Level of poverty and suffering in Western society is grossly and deliberately under reported.

Phrankleen may have his issues, but that dude talks sense "mostly". And anyone who watches him can attest to that-even you.

If he adopts a more neutral approach while having his talks i.e dealing with others that have opposing opinions(which is a skill that is usually learnt in some courses like mass communication or journalism), then trust me he runs a solid show. It's all about the narrative or opinion of which everyone has a right to.

To be frank, I want more channels like Phrankleen's as they help in diversifying my perspectives, so if you can do better, then I encourage you to start your own channel so I could subscribe.

It would be great to actually have you on a counter-debate/debate with Phrankleen on a hosted platform, because issues like what you raised could be intellectually analysed, and I loooooooooooove those kinda discussions.

I’m not sure how much of his channel you watch or you only listen to the part you don’t like them logout, he doesn’t discourage anyone from coming to the UK rather he warn those with unrealistic expectations about abroad.

I used to watch his videos but did not even notice the deletion of opposing comments. Anyway, I am not surprised by such acts these days. Those are people who claim to be liberal, support diversity of opinions, thoughts, inclusive and whatnot. However, they never practice what they preach as they believe it is either their way or the high way. They preach what they don't practice but practice what they don't preach. They are hypocrites! - Stay away from Woke people! They might share the same skin colour but their experiences differ from yours. When listening/reading tales from people in the abroad who warn you from relocating, ask questions. Try to know their migration route and citizenship/economic status. Someone who left via tourist visa and another who went for MBA at Haas School of Business would have different experiences, learn the mistakes the former made and strategies the latter did. The best way to solve the issue of folks like him and others is to have your YouTube page countering such views logically while allowing for opposing views that are constructive and free of insults. When asked why hasn't he comeback to naija (he was born in Europe actually) he'll tell you he'll be coming back that he has a plan. You know, the 40 year "I'm coming back home plan" where they never actually end up coming back home.

The guy who advised her is living a comfortable life, watching SARS and the military kill people from the comfort of his house in Canada. Not everyone has the luxury of having a plan. Sometimes you're in a situation of just migrating then figuring it out later. Who doesn't want to migrate legally? Maya is living in Ghana and travelling the continent. He's showing you first hand. But Maya has been critical of Africa situation. He has shown vulnerability many times on his channel. Lastly, you can't ask someone to do something you wouldn't do.

Changing the narrative by spreading lies and refusing to discuss the harsh reality of Nigeria's challenges?

Notice that every time he suggests returning home to start a business, it doesn't go past Agric, poultry, catfish farming etc..
Not everyone is cut out for such life! Why is there no functioning system that we can return to?

An African immigrant can move abroad without knowing anyone and still find his way ... why? There's a system in place.. but let someone just make a mistake and move to Nigeria without knowing anybody.. just try it and see if you won't regret your entire existence.

From a different perspective. The government, from the police force to the military is killing its people without any consequences. You have killers literally walking around free. Literally. Telling people to return or remain in such an environment, when an individual is enjoying the west, is the exact definition of enemy of progress. I couldn't do that in good faith, and I understand the hypocracy. The thing with Nigerians is, they think everything can be up for debate. You can't give someone constructive advice is remain or go back to Nigeria. They'll ask you where was this advice when you migrated ? And that's a fair question.

The issue is, he's a scam artist who plays on people's emotions to get paid. I will not put down any man's hustle, but what he's doing is dangerous and unethical in my opinion. He knows there are many losers like him who have been abroad for donkey years and haven't accomplished anything. So they blame the system and racism for their lack of success. So they come on his channel to vent. Or he knows you have many African Americans tired of racism thinking africa is better. So they come and listen to his African pipe dreams. These are his audiences.

If you dont fit into these categories, he'll block you, then shame you. With all the racism and 2nd class citizen talk, I can't remember the last time the US or UK military opened fire on innocent black protesters. As for the woman who left canada. The same tactic Phranklin uses was used on her. "You're a 2nd class citizen here". "Theres racism everywhere". Blah .. blah.... Now no job, probably doing Ashewo on the side, there protesting against SARS, etc. Now she'd take Canadian racism any day over what she's going through. And her advisor? He didn't even have the time to protest against SARS abroad. He's too busy making his dollars, living his comfortable life.

I started watching the dude when he was strictly into how to cook Nigeria food on Youtube, and I stopped when he deviated his channel into giving advice, gossip etc. I would think most educated Nigerians in the diaspora wouldn't make decisions and plan their future on the basis of random videos on Youtube, but I could be wrong.
