If Nigeria cannot do away with foriegn coaches who cornive with NFF officials cus of dollar deals, we will not get it right in football. Corruption is just what NFF is after, hence they cannot develop our local teams. If local players play with lone stars on that pitch, they will beat them hands down.

In the Westerhof years you could feel an upward, positive improvement year on year cumulating in our first world cup appearance and highest ranking of an African team in history. Teams like Cameroun which we could not just obtain results against we began to beat. The fear factor against North African teams vanished.

That is what a so called expat should bring in, a complete change of mindset and narrative. What can we say has fundamentally changed for the better about our National team since the late Stephen Keshi brought the Cup home...nothing apart from the 'mulatto-ing' of the squad. Great for photo-ops and kit launches but the weather beaten, cold, ugly, rugged faces of the late 80's and 90's still takes the cake any day.

They may not have European blood and played for fancy European clubs but you could not question their commitment anytime they stepped on the field of play. It was war, war, war.

Our local coaches usually bring tribalism into selection of players, they hardly put sentiment aside when doing their job.

Very well said. All the progress we seemed to have made under Rohr is slowly fizzling out. We don't have a formidable team, and this double draw against a team ranked 120th in the world will give our opponents hope that they can stand up to our guys. Fear factor is gone.
Rohr's qualification for 2018 world cup at the expense of Zambia, Algeria and Cameroon was his finest hour. Since then, things have been going downhill. We need fresh ideas. If we will get a foreign coach, let's get a top class one. We should be targeting semi final spot in World cup. We have the talent pool. We should be doing so much better.
