many countries have regulated social media some even pay social media tax . Why don't you see stupid stories on social media from some certain countries for example Dubai many see dubai in social media as a lovely tourist destination and a beautiful city but dubai has it's other side and tales which we don't get to see on social media . In uganda they pay social media tax (ott) . We need it before fake news and rumors will lead to
Total anarchy

You get time bro. Why don't you go through their comments, laugh and move to the next.

If the SM had been regulated before the endsars protest, the country would not be in this mess. Any person who posts an information that is false which results in the death of any person in Nigeria should be killed.

If this is not done, the enemies of the country who lost out in 2019 will cause serious problems in the days ahead.

Southern Nigeria is the region that mostly use social media. They want to regulate it so they can subject the south to whatever plans they have

Recently, events that took place in the southern parts of Nigeria went viral undiluted with the help of social without waiting for tv stations or journalists before it went viral.

Unlike the core northern part of Nigeria where they rely mostly on tv stations or journalists to cover an events and before they arrive most of the important scene would have happened and covered up by Nigeria wicked failed government as usual

The northern region that has a low usage of social isn’t peaceful for years now.

What is that telling you? It’s becoming a worrisome for the oligarchs seeing southern Nigeria gaining strength with the power of social media to expose Nigeria failed government and liberate themselves someday

Think about this without being bias, this is not a matter of tribalism but reality on ground

when they say regulate they will put in place stronger cyber laws to curb fake news like for those mischievous people that get a random picture and caption it wrongly to cause mayhem that is totally wrong
Is social media the causes of bad governance, corruption, police brutality and Islamic terrorism? Is that One of APC's campaign promises?I thought Buhari said he want to fight corruption and create jobs? Why can't he focus on his campaign promises? If he is doing what he promised during campaign will there be social media criticism?Their main aim is to silence critics not social media. Some Media houses have been fined and sanction. Are those ones circulating fake news too?The only way social media can be silence is good governance.
All these sharia law won't work.

I am waiting to see how our analog leaders will be able to regulate social media i guess some persons just want to cash out in the government because the youth who are the major users of social media are more smarter than those in government who are planning this unless government will create a new social media platform like some countries and ban facebook Twitter etc anything less will not work i think the government should focus on more serious issues like creating jobs millions of youth are jobless that is why there are always on social media in the first place people will always look for a way to express themselves.

Gej said it but most people were too deaf and misguided to understand..... A choice between new ways and old ways..... Since the idiots amongst us re the majority, they foolishly pushed us to the old ways so here we re discussing regulation of social media. Same tool they used to play their propaganda and got to office in the first place. If gej had imagined doing this the whole nation would have erupted in anger, protest and call him a tyrant but here's our reality and everyone is scared.... Too scared to do anything. Zombies we re all in this together, no wahala.

I'm 100% in support of that regulations.
