The thing I dislike most about themap is this communication problem. They won't disclose to investors vital information ontime. We have to keep sourcing for information ourselves. Everything is what this and that person heard or said. He announced a meeting with no time and venue and then went incommunicado. He needs to come out and tell us what the issues are and how he plans to solve it asap.

One thing i have noticed over the years is that many HYIP tend to encounter one problem or the other during the "Ember" month and it's as an intentional act to stall and trap funds for there common good or selfish interest.

MBA & THEMAP are same and one in this category as both opted for same ideology.

If it takes 4 weeks to get all refund back, then how do themapng intend clearing their backlog of weekly n monthly investors?
I'm hoping it goes as planned, as for backlog, nothing like that. They intend to continue from where they stopped. So if u contract was to end in December, add 30days to it, that shifts it to January

Same operandi with MBA.. both companies technically defering payment till 21-30 days.

I only hope they come through.

I feels so pained by the anguish we all here are going through.. and this is us with a bit of investment knowledge that were able to diversify our investments. I know people that put in their whole life earnings (20M and above) into this, wanting to cash out quickly. Can't readily blame them even though this also calls for the need not to put all out eggs in one basket.

I had gotten prior info that they intend to start paying 25% of refunds per week until all refunds are cleared but I did not give it any thought. Then someone stated that they got their 25% this evening and posted proof and well, maybe they are actually keeping to their words. So many things were wrong with the business model but then, we saw the risk and still took it. I pray and hope we all get a major share of our monies back. 2020 has been hard enough.

Not a smart move to invest your life savings in a venture. That is why diversification is very important, nothing is certain that why it is important to be prudent and have the necessary risk management strategies in place.

Did you have an idea of the business cash flow and profitability before you invested?

Did you see at least 3 years audited financial report of the business?

Who are the board members of the business? What is their pedigree and track records?

The sad reality is that 90% or more of High Yield Investment Schemes are either Ponzis or Scams.

A viable business will rather get a bank loan at between 25% to 30% per annum, rather than paying investors 5% per month which is 60% per annum

Sometimes, we tend to ignore getting necessary information before investing.

Which one month? Where will the money come from? Offices gone burst, business no longer operation, their MD arrested, their employees on the run and avoiding calls. So where will the money come from after one month? Unless they sell assets when the heat gets to their oesophagus.

There is no ponzi fraudster in the history of this Nigeria who stole above 100M and has been convicted. In fact, you won't spend more than 2 weeks in Efcc custody.

The Map just sent an email. Anyaso still dey with EFCC. Wahala dey! Thank God i didn't invest much. See how affiliates and the bike plan investors were hailing the Map here. Not knowing in the space of two months, a company that has been operating for years would crash. This has taught me a serious lesson.

With Anyanso Mma TheMap matter unfolding, the current voicemail ..., perhaps we get back to the starting line.

You'll know in running (track and field event), when there is a false start, they blow 'whistle', and restart the race.
Co investors, let's kickstart the thread again.

enigmatique:
This thread is a sibling of the thread on agritech crowdfunding platforms (linked below). It is birthed as a result of the post further below, which seeks to look beyond agritech platforms that crowdfund their operations to companies that crowdfund (or are trying to crowdfund) their operations in real estate, micro-lending etc. Just like the agritech thread, we are here to share ideas, review the performance of these companies and provide intel that all Nairalanders can use when doing their due diligence into whether or not to invest in these companies' offerings. We are also going to be looking at ONLY non-agritech companies in this thread as we intend to diversify our portfolio with non-agricultural opportunies. Again, read the post below for more info about "why".

Like I said this is a sibling to the agritech thread, so if you come across this thread and decide to follow it, I strongly encourage you to follow that thread too.

Now, let the discussion begin.

Agritech thread: https://www.nairaland.com/5358517/digital-agriculture-investment-platforms-options/

Post that inspired this thread:

Cc GhostderGeist, MummyIMadeIt, Reconciled, emmaversity and tenderjunkie.

enigmatique:
I want to suggest that we start looking into other investment platforms that crowdfund for other industries than agriculture. If a lot of us agree, we can start a separate thread to discuss, review and share our experiences with such platforms.

I'm thinking about this because I was inspired by something over the weekend. I was discussing with someone and the person said that one is not managing one's portfolio right if a dip/crash in the performance of one industry or sector of the economy leads to a decline of 50% or more of the value of one's portfolio. I initially didn't agree but when I thought about it later, I saw the wisdom in his words, as I am at risk of suffering significantly if the agritech sector goes under.

Some of the alternatives that I'm looking at are:
- Rentcrowdy.
- Wealth.ng's real estate investment options.

So how many people agree with me and are willing to start a new thread?
