Man has more UCL final goals than the whole barca team in the last 5years. Whatever Ansu is doing now, Asensio has done more in just his debut season i.e 2016/17. He had a bad injury last season after a poor season (2018/19, which was even poor for every other madrid player bar Benzema and Ramos) and he has been decent since his recovery.

Fati might be a generational talent but he is still far from matching Asensio numbers even his paltry league goals doesn't take anything from his career so far.
Fati is at least 3years from smelling Asensio's trophy hauls or big moment goals like against Barca X2, Juventus at UCL17 final, Sevilla (super cup final), PSG, and other important UCL knockout games. So don't compare apples to oranges just for some cheap troll.

My Observation.
1. Odegaard wasn't terrific but he made a far better midfield combination with Modric-Kroos than Isco. Zizou should have just stuck with that Midfield as the option on our bench was no better. The later midfield of Kroos-Isco-Modric allowed more chances from Villarreal and also kept hogging the ball causing silly mistakes here and there. (Modric was the major culprit here).

2. Vazquez should stop deceiving us with his work rate. Man is just not a winger anymore. He and Calvajah combo in our right attack was like pairing two defenders to attack. Who knows if Asensio would have provided better attacking incision had Zidane started him? Who knows?

3. Hazard is pure vibes in this team. Starts when fit even if he keeps dropping disaster class on a regular. Let him start on the bench for some games and give those valuable minutes to better performing players like Vinicius and Rodrygo.

4. Calvajah, Mariano, Varane, Nacho and Mendy gets a pass in this game. Calvajah is my MOTM.

5. WEe, madridristas should just accept that this current team is Mediocre or Average at best. A Copa del rey or Laliga win would make this season a good one.
