Drama at University of Ibadan as non-academic staff celebrate exit of Bursa

There was a mild drama at the University of Ibadan as members of the non-academic staff celebrated the exit of the institution's bursary, Michael Alatise.

A video posted by Galaxy TV on Friday November 20, shows the union leaders and members in front of the Bursar's office with brooms, bells, other items, singing and chanting various slogans.

It was gathered that after the celebration, they swept the former Bursar's office with brooms.

Accorsing to a journalist, Kunle Ojo, who witnessed the incident, members of SSANU and NASU described the tenure of the bursar as unpleasant adding that he made the institution inconducive for the non-academic unions.

The chairman of Saanu, University of Ibadan, Wale Akinremi said the bursar, a former member of the Union, neglected members of his constituency while in office adding that he contributed in the failure of the outgoing administration of Prof Idowu Olayinka.

Other members of the non-academic unions said the exit of the bursar marked an end to tyranny and unfriendliness in the institution calling on other top leaders in the institution to learn from the way he has been treated by the unions.

Obviously his regime wasn't favorable.
Reality: If he thought he was gonna hold Dat position for life, he was mistaken.
Let's learn to be human in our dealings with our fellow men. As much as possible be at peace with all men

That is life for you. Some people when they attain a position they become lord and every other person doesn't know what they are doing forgetting that life is transient.
In Nigeria of today people don't care about their family name again but take advantage of the position they are to make themselves important.

Hmnnn I don't know the details of the shenanigans going on there nor the bursar but if you dig deeper into the Matter I won't be surprised if they're happy because the bursar that left blocked all avenues for corruption and exploitation of the system

Many Nigerians aren't kind people.look beyond the surface.when a general group of Nigerians rejoice over the exit of a person he either exposed corruption, wrong doing or didn't tolerate unethical practices hence they're rejoicing because he has left and now they'll have a field day stealing and plundering unchecked till they crash the system and then blame government and corruption for why things aren't working...
Shioorrr Na today?

If you really want to know the real truth of the matter, after hearing the general opinion of why a group or groups of Nigerians are happy that a particular leader left Go and do your findings.youll see there is more to it.there are some nasty details behind the scene that some people don't want the leader to expose or punish them for their misdemeanour hence they're actually rejoicing for themselves and so there's this stronghold of corruption holding nigerians.if not have you noticed when it's time to sit down as a group to orchestrate evil and pull a leader down,Nigerians will be united and committed to it.infact they'll raise funds for it but when it's time to pull someone up or plan to bring normalcy to a particular institution you will see how people will be giving different excuses.im busy,I don't have time, who he EPP, there's no money, I've not paid my brother's school fees etc

Infact when you go to institutions and you see people consistently gathering under a tree or in the car doing meeting, just know they're plotting the downfall of another man.in nigeria the corruption in institutions especially those ones underneath and in ministries is more deadly than the one in abuja lipsrsealed

No wonder the Bible Said righteousness (righteousness means right doing, ethical standards) exalts a nation but sin (means wickedness) is a reproach.therefore have you noticed why Nigerian leaders keep disgracing Nigerians, other nationals disrespect outside nigeria and even Inside our own country? They know who we are, they see through out religious hoax.they know we're cruel to one another.thry treat Nigerians wickedly because we don't treat each other with kindness and love.we cheat each other, deceive each other, lie to each other, rape each other, exploit each other, kidnap each other and then justify it with "NOBODY holy pass".they see all these rubbish we do to each other everyday and you wonder why even ordinary Indians don't respect us.

Even countries that don't pray so much like us or have as many mosque and churches as us follow the principles of righteousness exalts a nation and they experience some level of sanity and progress

angry

SSANU/NASU with their thuggish attitudes! seems they are APC members.

BTW, the former bursar must be related to Abacha, they both have something in common.

Article doesn't say exactly what the bursar did while in office.

It's possible that the bursar is right while the union is wrong. Perhaps they have been collecting illegal money which the bursar stopped and they hate him for it.

Kemi Adeosun had a similar experience with ministry of finance staff then when she stopped bogus allowances and they were up in arms against her, but she prevailed because she was right legally.
