Don't get it twisted, the holy spirit is with you as a believer. What you are looking for is its EVIDENCE ie speaking in tongues. Don't force it, it ll come at the appropriate time

Read 1 Corinthians 12: 1-11.... Focus especially on vs 8-11.

What kind of gift of the holy spirit do u want exactly. Is it the gift of speaking in tongues and u've not received yet.

That doesn't mean you do not have the gift of the Holyspirit. There are 9 gifts and if you look within yourself and study yourself well, you possess at least one of these gifts. You can then ask God for more and believe you will have it.

For speaking in tongues, some do not get it at once and it takes a while. Just keep your heart open to God always and focus more on the Holy spirit for guidance to live holy. It will come

The way you are you already have the Holy Spirit but you need to be filled with him. They are two ways of getting filled with the Holy Spirit, first by laying of hands by a genuine Christian (may or may not be a pastor). Paul received his own through this method from Ananias. second is to pray for it. I received mine through the second method although it didn't happen immediately. It happened later in a church service and my life since then has never remained the same. You can download Good morning Holy Spirit by Benny Hinn to understand the importance of the Holy Spirit.

You receive the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands by those who have the authority.
1Timothy4.14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery

2 Timothy 1.66 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands

So you need the laying on of hands from the right person and after the gift of the Holy Ghost is bestowed upon you, you need to receive in faith and live a life worthy of the spirit's presence

I asked for the holy spirit after I arrived the UK and lucky for me I brought some of David ibiyeomies books with me especially the book holy spirit my helper.

After reading it, surrounding myself with holiness and praise I try to always pray read d bible and sing praise I believe the holy spirit is working and walking the path of life with me.

Their are things am supposed to do that's supposed to cost me money or stress me to my greatest surprise I end up not even spending a dime.

Kenneth Hagin opened my eyes yo the Holy Spirit.

You received the Holy Spirit the moment you gave for life to Christ. Holy Spirit is not twins. He’s just one Spirit. There are different works of the Spirit, but just one Spirit.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Galatians 5:22‭-‬23 KJV You receive these things the moment you give your life to Christ.

It is that same Spirit that gives the gifts in 1 CORINTHIANS 12:7–11. The Holy Spirit.

Only if anybody wants to say that there are two different spirits. Then that person would be contradicting the scripture that says "there are 3 people that bear record in heaven, The Father, The Spirit ( One Singular) and the Word (Jesus).
