What if the bursar was an upright man who refused to compromise? We'll know how public staff behave especially the high institution where you have pay extra to have things done for you. What if he was fighting a good fight? |

jhubril:Ngozi okonjo iweala said something that I won't forget.she said if you fight corruption in Nigeria, corruption fights back. I have noticed that Nigerians don't like good leadership.if you're a good leader and insist that you won't allow stealing, plundering and mismanagement, you have already declared yourself as an enemy to All or drawn the battle line without realising but if you allow stealing, exploitation and all manners of abuse of office, the same people will hail you and call you all manners of names you like e.g our great leader, our understanding leader Yen Yen Yen in your presence whilst still in office but the moment you leave that office, they'll be the same people to report you that you stole and allowed all manners of mismanagement, infact they'll bring out evidences even when they were part of the stealing oo They're the exact version of what yorubas call he invited a thief and showed him where to steal and also called the police to come and arrest him Leadership in Nigeria is more complex than what you think because the people who want to still keep plundering and destroying the system are more than those who want normalcy and if you want to restore normalcy, they're ready to kill you.thats why you will hear the yorubas say "eyan tiofeka jeun, ama'n yo owo ekuro lawoni"... literal interpretation anyone who wants to stop you from eating, you kill the person, there's no abomination in that Have you also noticed that in local government, ministries or other public parastals you will see pictures of obituary on the notice boards? If you want to see raw cruelty and beastly tendencies go to one of the gatherings where they unite to destroy a leader trying to restore a fallen system. |

blazepascal:Those in position of authority should not underestimate the importance of communication. Leaders need to communicate, explain your actions, let people know why certain decisions were taken, and why certain course of action cannot be taken. As an Accountant, he could be following the Financial Regulations, Treasury Circulars and other Extant Rules. All these will never be understood or appreciated by the people you're serving when you're disconnected from them. You need to explain your actions to them. It's lack of communication that makes people bad. |

SAMBARRY:You're very right. Reminds me of when the rector of FPA died. The people were rejoicing and they did not hide the fact that the reason for their joy was because of his zero tolerance to indiscipline and corruption. |

But in saner climes, when a dictator leaves office, it is being celebrated. For instance, if you are entitled to something and the person to approve it turns a deaf ear or choose not to attend to your matter, I know that people like you will be singing a different song with a different tune. And that is the matter with people with position. They are negligent of the mandate given to them to care and appropriate things legitimately, but are eager to approve anything that brings comfort to themselves. SAMBARRY: |
