Akinwunmi Adesina has shared his thoughts about the raging controversy surrounding General Yakubu Gowon.

It is no longer news he has been accused by a British MP of being behind, arguably, the greatest theft of public funds ever witnessed by the country. But in his opinion, Adesina advised that people be circumspect in believing what has been said about the former Commander in Chief.

He shared his thoughts on via twitter thus:

Be careful of misinformation! H.E. General Yakubu Gowon, Nigeria’s former Head of State, is a man of great honour, decency, honesty, amazing simplicity, humility and integrity. I know him. A great and admirable elder statesman of Nigeria. His honesty and integrity are impeccable.

Their problem is low IQ and slave mentality. Some white guy in London makes a snide comment backed by zero evidence, and to them, it's like God has spoken. No need to inquire further or investigate. Pathetic people.

I don't even believe that trash. Yakubu Gowon was in Ethiopia attending a meeting when he was overthrown. So how did he then move half of CBN? Did he come back to Nigeria to do so? Arrant nonsensity.
