The envy many Nigerians have towards Igbos is largely borne out of jealousy. I will give you an example. If you're rich, young and successful, go and live in an environment where most people are poor, suffering and hopeless, and see how they will hate you for no reason.

Go to the North and see Igbos owning the only big shops or supermarkets in their small towns and villages. Owning the only building materials or chemist shop. Providing services the locals can provide themselves at cheap rates and still cashing out. Living in decent houses and riding cars in the midst of poverty.

Go to the West and see them owning the businesses while the natives rely on civil servants salary or taxi driver jobs. While government will be delaying or paying them half their salaries, Igbos will be providing vital services and earning good profits in return. These are the basic things that bring envy on the Igbos. It's a sad reality.

Are all those things you mentioned up there the only things that are sold and consumed in Nigeria?

Yorubas are richer and more successful than the Igbos because Yorubas control and have the...

1. Most number of massive indigenous industries in Nigeria.

2.Control seafood.

3 Control Iron and steel.

4.Control the plastic trade.

5.Control the most of petrol stations.

6.Control rubber foot wears.

7.Control the tipper and truck trade.

8 Control building blocks trade.Planks, woods,plywoods etc

9.Control the cement trade.

10.Control the vehicle trade.

11.Control the indigenous and cultural clothings trade.

12.Control the beauty and cosmetics trade.

13.Control the information, communication and technology trade.

14.Control the real estate trades both at home and abroad.

15.Control the music trade and have the richest and best directors/producers in cinematography etc.

Eateries,Malls,Franchises, Lawyers,Professors
ETC,ETC..

Coupled with all of these,Yorubas have the highest number of dollar, pound sterling and naira billionaires both at home and abroad.

Yorubas are the only ones from Nigeria who went abroad with nothing but have been able to build businesses worth billions of dollars abroad and still counting..

No other Nigerian abroad can stand the business acumen of the Yorubas without monopoly or government help (lol...according to gullible Igbos...all businesses which are worthwhile need govt e.g policies, enabling environment, licenses etc.) who have gone through thick and thin to become the only Nigerians to have built real multi billion dollar businesses in Europe.

Igbos are petty business people who have only succeeded in Lagos due to the help of Yorubas, their benefactors and who have always been more successful than the Igbos.

Masterclass32:
Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has revealed the secrets to the success of the Igbos of Nigeria under any bad
economy.

This comes as the country recently swung into its worst-ever recession in 36years.

According to data from the NBS and World Bank, the country’s gross domestic product contracted for the second consecutive quarter since the recession of 2016, the worst since 1987 when GDP declined by 10.8 per cent. Nigerian leaders have cited the COVID-19 pandemic as one of the major reasons for the plunge, including the #EndSARS violence which some blamed as well.

However, Omokri is of the belief that the Igbos always prosper no matter how bad an economy is because of their reliance on their productivity. He also added that they are able to thrive under bad weathers because their prosperity is not tied to oil, which is the country’s major source of revenue or the government. The secret to that, Omokri said, is their resilience.

“No matter how bad the economy, Igbos always prosper. What is the secret of their resilience? Wherever they are, their prosperity is not tied to oil or government, but to their productivity. Igbos are prosumers, who produce more than they consume.”

Omokri once said the Igbos are the engine of the vehicle called Nigeria. He said this against the backdrop of electoral malpractices that greeted the 2019 general elections in Nigeria where according to him, the treatment meted out to the Igbos especially in Lagos, was worse than the rigging perpetrated by Muhammadu Buhari and his co-travellers.

“The ethnic hatred unleashed in Lagos probably set back inter-tribal relationships by about a decade. Thugs were unleashed on Igbo dominated strongholds in Lagos and voters were beaten and prevented from voting. All these were captured on camera, yet sadly, maltreatment of persons of Igbo heritage predictably went unnoticed by the Federal Government.

“Even worse, the public comments of people in authority, both in Lagos and Abuja, appeared to legitimize these unconscionable actions. The behaviour of the Federal and Lagos state government in this matter almost seems as if it is now official government policy that Igbos are second class citizens. How sad indeed.

“I personally do not believe that the Nigerian and Lagos state governments fully understand what Igbos bring to the table. Igbos are like palm trees in the desert. If you see palm trees, you know water is there. If you see an Igbo in a town, you know progress is there. Not as if they go where progress is. They themselves are seed of progress that yield harvests of progress.

“To have a proper understanding of what the Igbo have achieved, consider that every Igbo man, woman and child in Nigeria was reduced to £20 after the civil war in 1970. But look at how far they have come since then. They turned adversity to prosperity. No ethnic group are as Nigerian as the Igbo. An Igbo builds his family, his house and his businesses in whatever part of Nigeria he finds himself. They do not exploit other regions. They expand other regions. It is a disservice to treat them as unwanted,” he said.

Lol, stop decieving yourself. All those things you wrote is fantasy to console yourself.
Igbos control importation, business, services, retail and wholesale trade etc in Nigeria. Even there in the SW both Lagos and other SW states, Igbos dominate the Yorubas talk more of other regions in Nigeria.

All you listed from 1 to 15 are undiluted lies. I don't banter in sentimental argument. What do you mean by you control iron and steel, cement, plastic trade, sea food, rubber sandals and the rest? Are you in this Nigeria at all??

Do you want us to start mentioning local manufacturing brands owned by Igbos and let's compare with those owned by Yorubas?

You control clothing yet Aba is known across West Africa as home of clothings, shoes and bags? Aba supplies the whole of Nigeria and beyond! Where is your clothing manufacturing base?

You're very dishonest and it's quite appalling. Even your more exposed and enlightened elite know that what Reno said is pure facts!

Fayose sent Ekiti youths to Aba to learn business and other vocational training. Many of your opinion leaders have cautioned Yorubas to stop bambiala lifestyle and learn from Igbos who are doing well in your own local economy. There are many of such warnings by Yorubas similar to what Reno just said but you keep living in denial.

Akuko......story grin
Omokri's narrative is already staled! In fact it has repress to myth rather than reality.

'Buharinomics' is dealing with everyone, most especially the Igbos whose major stock and trade is importation.
Reno needs come to naija and ask Nnamdi how far?

Are u sure about the "especially" part?
It's a free market u know; a man who spends so much to import would reflect it on his price; hence, the final consumer takes the brunt.

As for "Buharinomics" dealing with everyone, that's a fact.

Before an Igbo man drops dead because of buharinomics, most folks in this country will already be dead.. Take that to the bank. Inflation respects no gender, tribe nor religious group.. Buharis dumb economic policy will contract importation but it can't stiffle demands for basic essentials like food items, clothes, shoes etc.. People will squeeze to buy, maybe not as much as before, but folks will still buy enough to keep the markets running.. And since manufacturing is nearly dead here, importers will break even, even if tight.. I import at an exhorbitant rate, I will simply offset my overbearing overhead by a little mark up in price! You will buy because you don't have any serious alternative really..., And don't forget, any serious importer must have built a serious relationship with his suppliers outside. That means you can get a sizeable amount of your stock shipped to you upfront before remittance of proceeds.. The calculated onslaught against traders is nothing but a double edged sword. . .
Buharinomics ko!? Ruganomics ni!?

Gham! Eight months ago Toyota 1MZ engine and gear stands at 190k to 210k wholesale price. Today it's around 300k thanks to the "buharinomics" as he calls it. Higher cost of import and forex exchange. The gain may have reduced small but who is bearing the bulk of the effect... the consumers. And that's because it's used auto parts ( tokunbo as we call it here), my friends in new auto parts will just calculate the extra cost and pass it down to the consumers 100%, kpatakpata demand will shrink small and bounce back later
