Internet Fraud is not the constitutional responsibility of SARS, they're meant to combat armed robbery, cultism, kidnapping and bandittry while mobile police is meant to combat violence and riot. It's our directionless governance that mixed and abuse responsibilities by failing to define their terms, duties and boundaries. Internet related crime can be handled by the police but to certain levels. EFCC is meant to deal with crimes related to monetary and economic (inland, internet and foreign) while DSS is designed to detect and trail terrorism or any aggression (both inland and internet) that pose a threat to national security. Certain large corporations actually expect such cybercrime and include that as part of expected losses. Unlike Nigerians who mainly go around defrauding vulnerable individuals...such are much more devastating. While i will agree that unemployment has actually increase the spate of cyber crime, i refused to agree that it is the cause in the first place, as such it could do little to eradicate cybercrime, as it is majorly caused by greed, desperation and negative influence. This is the reason the developed world that have relatively low unemployment rate are still topping the cyber crime chart. . Before one can be said to be unemployed, he must attain the age of employment, willing to work and searching for a job. But thesame cannot be said about many cyber criminals today. Some are so young that they have no reason pursuing money but education. Why the matured ones among them are not interested in doing any other job except cyber crime, as they felt is more profitable. Many will reject your job even if you beg them to do it. . Employment can only do little to eradicate cyber crime, atleast for those who are profiting little or nothing from it, they can be dissuaded. . Greed, poor parenting, and bad influence are the reason for the major part of cyber crime. 1 Like |

I am always in pain when I see posts like this that shows how unreasonable many Nigerian youths are. You sit in your house probably eating mummy's food and see small money to subscribe your internet from mummy then take your time to write something meaningless on a social media platform that someone developed with his own idea. If you are in pain about the yahoo boys issue, why not spend your time to invent a solution to the problem and a solution that will give your country a better name rather than just putting your energy on writing what you have no solution for.
