Tourism as an industry not only accounts for about 50% of the Bahamian GDP, but also provides jobs for about half of the country's workforce. The Bahamas attracted 5.8 million visitors in 2012, more than 70% of whom were cruise visitors.

BAHAMAS: In 1807, the British abolished the slave trade. During the following decades, the Royal Navy intercepted the trade. In the Bahamas, they resettled thousands of Africans liberated from slave ships.

BAHAMAS: has a lot of sharks, Bahamas has been ranked among the top 10 most shark-infested beaches in the world

BAHAMAS: The NASA has said recently that the bahamas is the easiest place to spot from the space station because of its magnificent Clear blue waters!
