The reconstruction of owerri-orlu road and owerri - okigwe road will take place on 30th Nov 2020. The project will be flagged by the governor

Owerri-Awka Road is the correct name for this road called Owerri-Orlu Road. The road shall serve Owerri to Awka - short cut to Enugu and Abuja- if the bridge at Ideato is now built.

Orlu needs its dilapidated urban roads to be rebuilt by IMSG now.

If you think that referencing your comment implies making suggestions and requests to you, you are not qualified to be in a public forum. Better education - you require.
After all, you are a Mr Nobody, only a paid-per-comment man.

Those in the leadership of Imo state know what I wrote about the Owerri-Awka Road, perhaps better than me.

This place is meant for discourse on development projects in Imo state not on development projects of only Owerri.

I am very very happy that you see me as your father.

I don’t reason like most of the touts here who don’t do any deep thinking or research before they post here.

Some of them would like all the pages of this thread be filled with photos of Owerri.

whatever rubbish they are doing, they should as a matter of urgency, start the reconstruction of Orlu -Owerri road, it's so unfortunate that road is still in a mess. that road connect two MAJOR cities we have in this state.....

this is how Rochas beautify Owerri, forgetting other critical roads...

We really have a big problem in Imo State. The scam that occurred during the previous administration will be a child's play compared to the current administration.

We saw when it was announced that Julius Berger has been awarded the contract to repair Orlu road and Okigwe road. They called a press conference and publicised it all over the media and even exchanged files with some White men that was purported to be from JB, yet almost a year later, nothing has happened. Instead we see direct labour repairs that are being used in a few locations like Aba road (this road was being repaired before Ihedioha was removed).

Now, they're erecting big sign boards in every junction in Owerri and showing computer generated pictures they downloaded from the internet and claiming they were going to replicate them in each roundabout.

Fuel is now expensive yet car owners waste it everyday in traffic jams that now clog all the roads in Owerri because most drivers are forced to use the few roads that are manageable.

It's indeed a very sad situation!

You think you intimidate anyone here by uploading photos of Owerri.

In the minds of backward people and cheats, Owerri must be the only developing place in Imo state, Orlu and Okigwe must fold up.
But it never gonna happen. There’s comeuppance for those governors whose wickedness make Owerri be the only developing urban center in Imo state. The two governors who started it are having their tribulations already. No one can cheat nature and get away with it.

Wickedness- nothing but wickedness - will make any governor not maintain at least a few urban roads in Orlu and Okigwe as those in Owerri are rebuilt

Politicians’ Scramble for Ala Owerri is partly behind the rot in Imo state outside Owerri.

...and others from Owerri can’t shout out over the scramble. PH and Lagos songs of natives losing their ancestral this and that.... loading.

Because these political leaders since 2007 feel that they don’t come from either Okigwe or Orlu, they reduce to squalid state the once developing urban areas of Imo state. At whose interest in Imo state?

Every new governor of Imo state is on Owerri urban renewal since 2007.

Destruction, abandon or rebuilding in Owerri since then. Who ate the funds to modernize other parts of Imo state since then?

Wetherel Road fine sha. But below is the most major urban road that cuts across major living areas and economic development projects in Orlu.

Even Aboki will not be happy, and must shout out over this disparity if it is in his state.
Since 2007, when this road in Orlu got bad, Wethrel road in Owerri must have been reconstructed about 3 times.

It’s like a state run by fools.
Imo state is under a spell. Evil took over the state since 2007.

God bless him more for investing in Imo State and helping to create jobs. The state really needs investments from private individuals because there is no government here.

Imo State economy is gradually picking up and it will receive a boost once the refineries, petrochemical plant and gas projects are completed.

Had it been we have a governor like Umahi who would provide the much needed infrastructure, Owerri would have been competing with P.H by now but we keep having mediocres like Rochas and Hopeless.

Captain Iheanacho contested for Imo State gubernatorial election but when he wanted to build a refinery, he went to Lagos. Yet an outsider decided to build same refinery in Imo. We don't need selfish people like this.

Voting Hopeless out in 2023 is a task that must be done so that Imo State can develope optimally.

The bolded just hits the nail on the head. This is a problem in Igboland not just Owerri. For instance, we have an infrastructure governor in Ebonyi that probably needs more of agriculture than anything else and places like Imo that need governors like Umahi to supplement the hospitality industry is made o manage mediocres like Rochas and Hope.

Hope trips to Abuja, I believe will attract more FG presence than Rochas regime, though I don't like him. That man has a lot of clout.
He has been cajoling seplat and Walter smith owners to finance some roads and get tax relief, especially for owerri -umuahia road.
