Gabriel has been our standout player on both ends of the field. We need to improve our attack for sure but I can’t understand for the life of me why Arteta can’t get anything out of our current players. I mean, at least an attacking identity.

That is just my preference. Joao is overhype IMO. I have watched him 2 or 3 times and not just on youtube.

You noticed how Podence deleted Gabriel? I fear Even Gabriel will begin to look ordinary or poor.

We have low points and more goals conceded when we compare this time last season.
Btw, this same attack was firing in all cylinders last season also

And your last paragraph(italicized part).. That's exactly what we wanted to tell people who will always say good defence anyday over good midfield and attack. Defence will always always suffer and look mediocre if midfield (esp) and attack is poor. See as Gabriel was made to look ordinary cos of the ingenuity of pondence and Tierney was rag-rugged that day by Adama. All because our midfield was overwhelmed that day.

Even the game of man u was won because of good midfield plays by partey and elneny who won balls time and time again and launched counter or progressed play excellently. Not saying the defence wasn't good that day but they weren't under pressure until I think the last 5min of the game. I could remember vividly that man u have only one clear cut chance in the 1st half which fell to greenwood. That's because partey and elneny really neutralized man u attack before it even started. And that's Exactly what good midfield will do for you.

We look very shambolic in attack. If we'd gotten a decent attacking midfielder instead of willian and also gotten partey too(coupled with Gabriel) I feel Arteta would have ditched that his 343 plan.
Why I'm not even critical of the players like that but the system which Arteta is implementing, cos the system inhibits our attack very very much and it's very one-dimensional. Unless Arteta creates an attacking system, I'll mostly blame Arteta more than I'll blame the players

I feel The defense looks good mainly because of the system Arterta play, when off the ball, notice how everyone sits back and leave no space for opposition to dwell anyhow.

Also, Ozil or another AM won't change things a lot, what is needed is a Sanchez like in the LW
( Saka, Martinelli and Nelson) are still not ready for a full season IMO, they should be eased in, fatigue and diminishing return will set in).
I admitted this with Guen last year.

A carzola type who can arrive in the box, shoot with both feet and constantly drive at opposition with power and pace.

And a powerful pace RW like Oxlade,Adama and Douglas Costa.

Btw, I just discovered a very good CF and AM/LW from Mochenglabach, they are Alessano Plea and Marcos Thuram(son of Lilian Thuram) respectively. Unfortunately Arsenal scouts are/have been sleeping.

The likes of Ndidi, Ricardo peirera, Harvey Barnes and Vardy will not give you breathing space.

The bolded is the truth I've been preaching since 1900, Play Cebbalos Guen ,Torreia even Elneny along Xhaka and see how they'll start well but decline later.
I can bet Partey will be infected with the side,back and slow midfield football with xhaka

The board should drop the cash and let him get the players he want. And Edu should stop interfering in transfers,he is not the coach.

I am a huge fan of Arteta but I also think he is inexcusable especially after we judged Emery.

Emery himself lacked wingers, I remember how we cried for wingers until he bought Pepe, but yet he had an attacking plan using his fullbacks. A good coach finds a way to manage, probably that was what our useless board expected from Arteta. Perhaps too if Arteta had manged the situation he would not get their attention in Jan.

There are different ways to kill a rat. Your idea is also good and workable. But I doubt if that is what Arteta wants to implement. He wants an AM. Simple. And I believe that's what he needs based on his system.

Arsenal will most likely resign Jack Wilshere come January on a earn as you play contract. An AM will also be signed to give more options. RB Salzburg's Szoboszlai is a major target.
