this is canada, let her come visit you. They wont give you have you have no ties to Nigeria that will bring you back ( for visit visa) e.g a good job, business, properties etc.

Hello chief, want to ask if there is any other route apart from applying for express entry or school for someone that his father is in Canada and is 27 years old to migrate to Canada.

Because i graduated with 2:2 and i heard i cant use that to go for a masters, i was advised to do PGD

My question is: Can WES evaluation replace PGD?
nairalandbuzz:

You can do diploma na... or postgraduate. if you evaluate your WES, it will be regarded as postgraduate and some schools might accept it for masters...

start first

WES does not evaluate first class or 2.1 or 2.2 Wes Evaluates OND, HND, BSc, PGD, Masters, PhD even diploma.

So don't disturb urself with 2.2 evaluation except you are only interested in a master's program and the prerequisite states they want PGD...

Ok I have been a PR here in Saskatchewan province and living in Regina City for over a year now.... As Salford rightly said, this is about the most easiest province to relocate to from Nigeria and Not regret ever having to make such decisions Cos it's easier to start all over again here unlike the bigger cities where u have to husstle and die to "make it". I was in ON, saw the standard of living compared with SK and I take SK ove On any day. Almost missed my flight back to SK from ON dues to gridlock like the one on Lagos Island.

Life is easier here though minimu wage is low but it's 90% a take over naija any day. I got my vehicle all paid up withing 5months of working and a decent apartment in Greens Gardiner for those that knows Regina City and so far it's been a journey worth it..

Yes it's lonely and the reason u need to move here with Ur family. And if u single then u can explore.

Above all no regret so far as I no pass my boundary and being a PR is the best I can wish for now. Citizenship loading in a jeefeey...

The Greens nice neighborhood. The best in the east end.I notice a lot of Nigerians are on this side of the city..How’s Regina been for you so far? find it a bit too small though

Hello all.

Been a while I came here. I live in Regina Saskatchewan. I live in Harbour Landing; for those who know Regina well.

If you are coming here on PR or as a Student, you might need some tit-bits on how to settle down. Just feel free to reach out to me. And when you arrive, just holla too, can create time and show you around.
Regina is perfect for a family person and also for students. Can be a little boring though especially if you have no social circle to mingle with. But it is economically tailor-made for those coming from Nigeria with standard budget. Best place I think from which to ease oneself gently into Canadian Life.

Email me at branphilo@gmail.com if you have some quick questions or you are coming to Regina. Indicate Naija on the subject line.

Hello, thank you for your post. I just received an ITA to apply for the SINP. But, I am worried because even though my POF is complete, the complete fund has not been in my account for 3 months. I started building the account from September 2020 and just completed it last month.

Please, has anyone been in this situation before and what could be done at this point in time?

No. I highly doubt anyone can secure a nursing job from outside Canada. Nursing is regulated, hence you will need a provincial license for an employer in Sask to consider you. It might be easier for that to be done in the US or UK.
What about an accounting Job for someone coming from Nigeria. I’m An ACCA part qualified account and I have an advance diploma in accounting. Is it possible for me to get a job there to boost my point....Awaiting ur reply m, thanks

Hello friends,

I received an invitation to submit an application (ISA) for SINP under the OID stream. The NOC i chose was 0711 (construction managers). This NOC is NOT on the excluded occupation list.

I have been working with a construction company here in Nigeria for more than 5 years, overseeing construction projects along with my boss. My job description clearly fits that of a construction manager.

Here is the issue. The course i studied in school is urban and regional planning (i did WES for this degree), and urban and regional planning is listed on the excluded occupation list.

would this make my application ineligible?
Do i is till go ahead and submit the application?

I don't want to dash away 300CAD application fee.

Mbok, pls advise me
