same with me. Applied for my mum in July and she did biometrics in August. Keeping our fingers crossed

Ah since June?

My wife was in similar situation as she was pregnant and wanted her mum, but her mum has since done biometrics on August 24

We had applied in July but Covid19 had close vfs.
Please whats the problem now because the vfs has been open since August ooh, and booking biometrics has been possible since the weekend before that date.

Without biometrics, your application won't proceed.

Good morning gurus in the house, I've been visiting the place since last year but it's time for me to take a great steps.
Please I need more information and how I can take the best steps about travel to Canada for working and study.
I only have higher national diploma (HND) in federal school here in Nigeria.
I just got my passport last month no travel history
No sponsor yet. No land properties..
But I believe in God.

Should I meet some travel agent or I should follow all the process online myself.
I only have 1m for everything.

Please advise me
I'm just 28 single guy.

Has anyone gotten response on his or her canadian visa. I did my biometric since February this year but yet no response as regards approval of my visa. My application was done online. It is still showing pending application. Any update

In fact, it's something else. I applied in first week in March. I requested for my GCMS note just to know if they've approved it or not but to my surprise, nothing was in my GCMS note, all that was there was "in progress" and I can remember that when I checked my application in first week in April, they've started my eligibility review, which makes me certain they must have made a decision on my application by now but why they are still holding it is what I don't understand.

At last, I got my passport from VFS. The slip from Canadian Embassy says" Your application is still in progress while your passport is being returned to you. You will be required to resubmit your passport if required. "
After 10 months. It's well.

Hello Everyone!

Happy New Month!! smiley
I would need your advise regarding my parent's application.
I applied and submitted on their behalf precisely 28th February 2020, Biometrics was done 3rd March, 2020 and updated same day i believe.
We haven't heard from the processing office.
Can i still update the reason for their invitation because it was initially for a family visit since they haven't seen us and their grandkids in over a year of becoming PR's.
I would appreciate your feedback. Thank you.

Hi all. For people that have recently received their passports back from VFS, how long did it take from when you paid for courier and filled the form to when you received the passport. I don’t know why there’s been a delay in them sending my mom’s passport back.

Please who knows anything about Confoo Montreal 2021 Conference for the developers coming up Feb 22-26

Is it a Virtual Conference or Physical?
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by pamelaa(f): 2:59pm On Dec 04, 2020
Have you tried calling vfs to confirm they received the courier payment and the forms you filled? You can also call them to know if the passport has been dispatched. If it has, you'll be given a UPS tracking number to track your passport.

Send an email to this address: IRCC.COVID-TravelExemptions-Exemptionsdevoyage-COVID.IRCC@cic.gc.ca

The mail is for those who:
1. Need to request a written authorization from the Government of Canada to reunite with an immediate family member (who is residing in Canada and who is NOT a Canadian Citizen/Permanent Resident) for an essential (non-discretionary) purpose; or
2. Want to tell us they are exempt from the travel restrictions AND their TRV (visitor visa) application received before April 9 is still in progress AND they are travelling to Canada for an essential (non-discretionary) purpose.

I hope you packaged your initial application well.

Why not go for Express Entry?
School will be cheaper for you as a permanent resident and you have access to more scholarships.

1M is too small for Canada studypermit but you can try the second option of getting a travel agent or check Canada Student visa thread on nairaland to get requirements to apply for your self

Hi, submitted since mid Febuary, no response yet.....this canada journey is crazy..
dapsalmy:
Hi all, sorry i've not replied those that quoted my posts with questions, please ask again, its stressfull looking for 'em from previous posts, work plenty.

Quick update from a reliable source. IRCC are filtering applications for students, essential workers and family re-unuion related visa types. Non essential tourists applications are being processed too but only pre-approved (IF approved) but you won't get an email, you only will if you're rejected, so basically if you've applied for tourist visa (online application) and its been about or over 2 months since biometrics and no response, you're "most likely*" already approved, but you will just see "Submitted" as status for now.

My advise is for anyone who wanna apply to apply now, "The covid factor" would help a lot of people this period, especially now that trump has lost and the over 1m people Canada was expecting to migrate from the US because of trump's proposed bans won't be going again. Goodluck guys.
