shrines that were given up willingly by their worshippers? you need to check the meaning of persecution in your dictionary
Persecution means hostility, ill treatment, persistent annoyance, harassment usually because of religious or political beliefs. Persecution doesn't have to be violent. I am a Christian but lets tell ourselves the truth, Christians persecute people with other religious beliefs too. Ours doesn't come with any form of violence but it still remains persecution. Christian private unis are ready to admit muslim students as long as they are ready to practice Christian faith(they call it obeying the rules), same applies to muslim unis . U can say nobody forced them to attend such schools, its true nobody forced them, but that is the system encouraging religious persecution.

How has Nigeria persecuted Christians? Are you this dumb?

Let's start with the government sponsored Jihadist attacks against rural Christian communities across the country - from Delta to Southern Kaduna.

The government retires or sacks Christians in positions in power and replace them with Muslims. In a country where Christians and Muslims have almost equal numbers, the government is disproportionately Muslim.

El-rufai, the governor of Kaduna state, deceived his former Christian deputy to run for senate and then picked a Muslim as his deputy. Kaduna is not like Sokoto or Zamfara where Christians are an inconsequential minority. The Christians in Kaduna are being denied representation at the highest level of government in their own state. Christians are murdered in their sleep and El-rufai has never visited them.

What you see happening in Aso Rock is what happens in most northern states where indigenous Christians are a minority. If your name isn't Muhammad, Abdul, Jamal, etc you are not getting a job. There is institutionalized oppression against the Christian minorities.

No government official has ever criticized Fulani herdsmen for the unprovoked murders they commit. They always call it herders vs farmers clash to make it look like both parties are guilty of violence. You are asking how Nigeria has persecuted Christians.

Just recently, Hisbah went about destroying crates of beer and hurting people's businesses. These people are Christians. But the north would want to partake in the sharing of VAT gotten from the sale of alcoholic drink. Christians are persecuted in Nigeria and you'll be bias or dumb not to see this.

There are many government Universities you can attend, so you are not being denied access to education.
