Ondo State first lady Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu has urged mothers to raise their sons to respect womanhood, Igbere TV reports.

Mrs Anyanwu-Akeredolu stated this on Tuesday via Twitter following news that Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom had reconciled Channels TV reporter Pius Angbo with his wife Ifeyinwa Angbo after she accused him of domestic violence throughout their six-year marriage.

“On Benue domestic violence gone viral…Nigerian Mothers, it’s ur responsibility to raise ur sons 2 respect womanhood. Counsel them not 2 turn somebody’s daughter 2 a punch bag. Wife beating no matter d circumstance is UNACCEPTABLE!” the first lady wrote.

“It’s a no no 4 me & ppl wt a sense of decency!!”

If anything should happen to that woman going forward, Ortom should be held responsible. That lady was bullied into reconciliation, which is the reason they had to make a public spectacle of the "reconciliation".

Marital issues of this magnitude arent resolved with the wave of a hand by someone who bears no familial relationship with the spouses. Ortom is just a governor and it ends there! The reason the woman accepted to appear publicly, feigning forgiveness and reconciliation is because of the person of Ortom, not because she truly feels that way. This is a case of abuse that transcends several years, its resolution cant be this simple.

Ortom is fantastic example of all a leader shouldnt be. He knows how to reconcile warring couples but cant resolve his issues with his first wife.

Pathetic.

Men should be responsible period. There are thousands of men raised badly but I never dare beat a woman. I have seen so many thugs who are against domestic violence. So the way a man is being brought up as nothing to do with domestic violence.
