Not really, such people are in every country. I hope you read entire message. This is a psychological thing which greatly depends upon political environment of your country also. That's why rich Italians cry but poor Brazilians are happy.

"Highest number of poor people" has not really been cared about in India as people always knew we had very large population. Even if today you go and tell them that Nigeria and Congo have more poor people than India and China, Indians won't believe you. But they won't cry as they know their population.

Poverty also was barely an issue in India. Money was not a part of culture and government defined development in term of education and healthcare only from 1950s to 70s. Business consciousness and affluence only rose after 80s. But poverty had started to decline to great degree from then.

It is not that Indians don't say bad about their country's illness. They don't bcelebrateeing better than world's worst countries (Africa/Afghan/Pak/Bangladesh) nor have any interest in that but they get immediately ashamed when they are told that these countries are equal to or better than India.
Here you are trolling Nigerians, Kenyans, Rwandans and South Africans because your politics is connected with countries like yours.

But Indians on internet interact with and are insulted by Americans, Chinese, Japanese Turks, Canadians and Europeans which are much richer than our country. So go to Indian channels and see whom they compare with.

Why US, China and Japan produce more cars than India is a great issue in India that Indians don't celebrate producing many times more than entire Africa. They are more upset about how US, Russia and China managed to land on moon before India than telling other countries in world that India is ahead of them in space.

Same here, In a TV debate:
A government party politician will say, "India has just 3% extreme poverty left and will start using new higher standards of poverty". The journalist will rebuke him saying, "China has just 0.5%, what is big deal?"

In past decade, India's GDP per capita was behind Africa, became equal and higher in 2017 and by 2030, will be double. Still Indians will not troll Africans. But they will still cry because China and western world still remain ahead of India. But they will insult Pakistan for sure which is also falling behind.

Because Indian politics is connected to China, West and Pakistan etc. but not Africa. I hope you understand.

You will see Indians calling India a failed third world democratic experiment or world's new Nazi Germany a lot. They are not worst. But just not being worst can't make you happy. Nigeria is having just its bad times for a while.

Your claims that 80% of the respondents choose Nigeria is very wrong. Only around 40% to 45% choose Nigeria, the rest were either clueless or choose Kenya, SA, Morocco, or Ghana.

Secondly, you either have an inferiority complex or you're trying hard to launder Nigeria's damaged image. Why would you need validation from any other person in the world? Must people from other parts of the world like Nigeria?

Security situation in Africa and The Middle East is far worse. Insecurity is at an all time high. Bandits, robbers etc run the country.

India played down her social ills, attracted investors and tourists despite widespread poverty, terrorism, illiteracy, and infrastructural challenges, and is today reaping the reward. Poverty is falling, and development occurring fast.

America does the same. This is a country where gun crime is equivalent to 100 Boko Harams working at the same time. Do you ever see this on CNN? Nope.

Instead they report stuff to attract you and your money to the US, by trade and other means. With that money, they invest in fighting crime.

But will Nigerians embrace such sophisticated reasoning, or remain the perennial ''woe is me'' cry babies of the internet?

The signs point to the latter, which is pretty sad.

How can you compare the security situation of Africa to the West? Comparing common criminals in America to Bandits, Terrorists and Jihadists across Africa. Those groups play a very different ball game. American/western criminals are nowhere near as severe as the latter. They don’t impact their societies anywhere near as much. These terrorists don’t just kill people. They mess up communities so badly. They displace millions of people, they wreak havoc upon their communities and nothing can stop them in their country.

Comparing a drug dealer or common street gang (most of whom are black btw) to a guy that can just go into a mall, park or public area and detonate themselves killing hundreds of innocent people.

The wealthy ones tend to overrate themselves and their country. E.g wealthy Nigerians like to compare their countries to the global powers of the world such as USA, China, Japan, UK, EU etc and it’s crazy. Africa on its own has a smaller GDP than many multinationals such Apple, Nvidia etc not to talk of Nigeria. It’s ludicrous comparing yourself to countries that are magnitudes of times more advanced, wealthier etc The elites of Nigeria need a reality check.
