80k is alot of money now, you have to also consider the fact that it is a government job, meaning less stressful and ability to grow with time.
Don't plead to him, allow him yo satisfy his conscience. The type of job many guy are looking for with both eyes

You are right, but the thing is that I have a side hustle that gives me up to that in a month though it’s not sustainable but it gives me time to socialize and also travel around and I don’t think this job will give me that liberty.

The two things going on my mind are:

I think this job is going to take away my social life, my passion and also my beard and the salary is not worth it.

Secondly, turning down this job offer my upset this man because this is the second time he is offering me a job.
I’m so confused!
You kept hammering on beard beard like say e go put food on your table. Is that your only selling point. Guy, you have passed your prime as guy oo, it's time to settle down and build your future well. You can grow grey beard after retirement na cheesy. That side hustle you are talking about can grow if you have another source of steady income, at old age your strength may not let you move around for the hustle, that's when you will value the job you are about to turn down. Job wey guys de carry over 500k de find fa, chai..this life no really balance true true.

Wahala for some of us wey no get beards o!

Of all the things you should be worried about, keeping your beards is the top of the stack.
Either you love the job enough/need the money enough to do away with the beards, or you love the beards so much you can let go of the NCS job. Namaste brother.

I buy PayPal, Payoneer, Skrill, Neteller and Africard funds.

Omo, some people no just get priorities o
Imagine something bad happened to op (God forbid) and he had to shave beards off to stay alive or healthy na so him go come ask us here.... Oshissko.

Op, my candid advice is that since you earn almost 80k but it's not stable, take the ncs job and combine with what you do already.

Set a 3 to 5 years goal of savings to start something viable, pursue that in combination with salary for another 3 to 5 years, by then, you should be able to resign and leave the country as you plan to.

You're 30, you're not getting any younger, nobody will give you a job of 200k to 500k in this country on a platter, you need to use the scarce resources at your disposal judiciously...with focus on your work and dreams rather than your fickle beards, you can achieve all you desire to.

Op, reason am, how you want tell your pikin say you reject job because of beards in the future ehn?
Take mic and explain to us please.

It’s not as if I don’t need a job I do, but taking this job will be like settling for less and blocking the way for more. I make over 80k now in my side hustle but am still not comfortable.
I know that once I start this job more responsibility will be added to me by my family not to talk of other small small Billings from family and friends.

This man has given many people jobs in FIRS, CBN, Immigration And NDLEA.
I know that he will soon get one of these slots again I just have to be patient.

A bird in hand.

I know it's those other ones that are entering your eyes.

Lol.....Prisoners rarely give bribe because 90 percent of prisoners in Nigeria are poor men or people from poor background, rich people hardly go to jail in this part of the world.

You're not even into the system yet youre just outside speculating.

Who told you only poor people are there?

My dad handled Yaraduas case those days and we know how much he made plus how the Yaraduas were trooping our house and dashing us his children bulk of mint naira notes.

Or was it when he handled some American guys case and the families were loading us with foreign can foods, canned fruits in cartons and hampers. This was in the 90s. We hardly ate nigerian beverages that period. Plus other rich people who kept recommending my dad to one another.

Oh.. boy na levels o. Forget.

Good day guys
I’m about to get an appointment letter to work in Nigeria correctional service (prison) though I didn’t apply for the job.
According to my findings online they are not allowed to grow beards.
Now here are my questions, is there anyway one can keep his beard while working there and how much is the salary of a Degree holder?
Please help me with answers so that I can make up my mind thanks.
u not a serious minded person u just wanna start a job...u know their donts but u wanna risk it anyways....hahaa

You can get a medical certificate that it will dangerous for you to shave it based on your health. They will leave you. It is done all over. We do see security operatives with beards based on medicals.

You too imagine how you'll look with beards and that beret or cap. It's necessary to be well groomed as an officer. Better still, go for the Army. I know those ones who go to the war front are allowed to keep their beards.
we did not start prison, other people of the world leave beard s prison officers

Yeah!! Do your finding pleas. i have a friend who has been working with Correctional Service since 2017, he tells me everything about the Job. although the Job is unpleasant, be u an officer or recruit. u guard Prisoners together irrespective of ur Rank. he hates the uniform with passion but he loves the cash, thats more Importantan grin grin

I can say your friend didn’t tell you everything about the job. If you go into the service as a university/polytechnic graduate, you are a commissioned officer. Definitely you should be in the office but if you’re opportune to work on field, you are to supervise the junior staff. Recruits are the one that do the most works on the field.

I feel like spanking you. What do you know about Prison service? I worked dhr during my IT and I also served dhr during my Service year . Prison Service gives you liberty to work and also run business
there is morning shift. afternoon and night. You close as early as 2:pm. I worked in the welfare session at Jos Prison and Most times the workers do nothing but to delegate work to the junior officer. You no serious. if not for corruption you for no dey turn this job down because you have a dad that is connected

The man doesn’t sell his slots he gives it out as a Favour to family and friends he has really been a blessing to many.
To me he feels he owes me a job because I’ve been very loyal to him right from my secondary school days till now.

I’m going to call him today and politely turndown the job, I will also ask him if I can sell the job and use the money to process my visa but i doubt if he will agree because I’ve never heard he sold a job and he also likes discouraging people from traveling outside the country to hustle.
But no harm in trying.
Oga take the job now oo.. Before its too late.
