Thats true. They cut out the Oil producing areas like Obigbo, Egbema and Etche and lumped all of them into Rivers state. Had they known that Ukwa , or Owaza in Imo state had Oil, they would have been carved into Rivers state and by now, that idiot called Wike would have been saying they are not Igbos

When we talk about Rivers state, lets not forget that Igbos are indigenous to at least 4 LGA's in that state. Obigbo indigenes are Igbos and Obigbo used to be in Imo state before it was carved into Rivers state in 1976 and renamed 'Oyigbo'

Etches of Etche LGA are Igbos

Egbema people of Egbema Ndoni LGA are Igbos, infact, half of Egbema is in Imo state in Ohaji- Egbema LGA

Omuma are Igbos.

What many people dont seem to understand is that the population of Rivers was not that big, so they carved areas of old Aba and Owerri provinces such as Egbema, Obigbo and Etche out to create Rivers state

It is very unfortunate that Wike chose to display hus stupidity for the world by no knowing that at least 4 Local Governments in Rivers are home to indigenous Igbos

Note that in Ahoada West you have 3 people groups, that's Ekpeye, Engenni and Ogbogolo.

Ekpeye has never been Ibo. The language may have some similarities with ibo language, but has way more differences from ibo than any igboid group in Rivers.
