And yet the fellow responsible for the security agents in Nigeria refuses to be responsible to the National Assembly and the National Assembly itself cannot find balls strong enough to impeach him. The guy is on holiday and welcomed home by the kidnappings of school children right in his own State. He is a toothless bulldog from all the circumstances.

Too many undocumented people in Nigeria, many of them damaged individuals, trooping in through open borders; people flooding into Northern Nigeria from Islamic African nations like Burkina Faso, Niger, Chad, Mali then making their way down South; people coming in from Cameroon; people coming in from CAR, people from Ivory Coast to Lagos etc. Nigeria needs to take border controls and policing seriously if Nigeria is going to operate without adopting the strict outlook on immigration and security other nations take.

The character of Nigeria cannot take the darker note it has without some significant occurrence having happened somewhere along the line..

Who da hell wants to work as a security guard in Nigeria? That would be suicidal. Is it not this same security I did? When we wore shiny shoes tight trousers with big muscles following Nikki Minaj about in 02 arena?

The guy you quoted is insensitive, and yes,our police has work to do.

But he is, unfortunately right.

In the US, a certain guy called Freddie Gray was killed by police negligence. There were riots, and as a result, the Police felt unsafe and withdrew...and as a result, crime skyrocketed.

In New York, two cops were shot dead in their patrol vehicle. Many people in the area felt it was 'good'. Police withdrew, crime skyrocketed.

The ENDSARS protest was right, and overdue, and the Police should have done reform (and I blame the tone deaf guys in Abuja for pretending to reform SARS when they didn't.)...

But the ENDSARS riots got out of control, several policemen were killed, and there was a major jailbreak. As a result, Nigerian policemen, like their American counterparts, did not feel safe...and stayed away. Crime skyrockets.

Plus, our police are poorly funded and poorly paid (and to be honest ENDSARS did agitate for better funding for the police...an issue that has been forgotten).

The police have done badly. SARS has been a big stain. But we cannot be abusing the police, poorly funding them, attacking them unprovoked sometimes...like during the ENDSARS protest, and expect them to come out and work for us. They are humans like us.

you must be an idiot....if SARS were doing their job well without killing innocent citizens across the country who would have their time to say #ENDSARS... But rather they were criminally extorting money from helpless Nigerians and killing those who resist or who could not pay....nonsense everywhere

In this jubrin's nation. If you want to be a security, there are 4 prequisites for the job.
1. Okigbe (cutlass resistant juju)
2. Ogun ibon (bullet proof juju)
3. Gbetugbetu( do as i say).
4. Ofe ( ability to disappear when it is getting tougher).
RIP GUY!!!

Okay, so who takes the blame for a poorly funded Nigerian police? The masses? Should the masses also not protest over the murders of Nigerian citizens by police? Should the masses just fold their hands a allow police to kill them and their young children? For how long? Nigerian police never protected the citizens from criminals, It would have made no difference even when Nigerian police or SARS were incharge. And please do not compare Nigeria with America. NO criminal gets away with crime in America regardless if police were present or not, unlike in Nigeria were the criminal bribes the police. America has database every American (criminals) citizen can be identified unlike in Nigeria.

More like ignorance. People should not protest against police murders incase the police witdraw from protecting the people against criminals? If the Nigerian police protected their citizens their would be no protest against them in the first place. undecided Nigerian police have never protected their citizens. No difference between now and when they were in the streets collecting bribes, blackmailing, killing, intimidating and brutalising innocent Nigerians.

Well, the harsh truth is that

1.Nigeria is not earning enough, even from oil

2.Nigeria is not earning enough from taxes. Our tax to gdp ratio is low, even lower than Ghana and South Africa.

The way froward is to become a producing nation, not a nation that waits for money to be shared from Abuja every moth end...the money that isn't even enough

And yes, the masses too have their share of the blame. We vote in the same old jokes, we don't hold them to account, and even those who hold them to account, most do so so that their side can win in the next election, then they join in the chopping.

Correct, I agree!! Nigeria is too big for one government Nigeria is 4 countries joined together. The masses ussually do not vote for real change, they vote for who is from their tribe or religious group. Their votes do not count and never counts anyway.

And to think part of the #Endsars movement included police welfare,
The thugs the government agents brought in destroyed the movement and gave it the illegitimacy the gov't wanted,
It's a game that passed by your head, like most people including the dumb cops themselves
