Singer Davido has canceled his Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) record label live in concert over the rise of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Lagos, Igbere TV reports.

The 28-year-old shared the poster of the concert with a big canceled sign on it in an Instagram post on Wednesday.

He said the health and well-being of fans, employees and artists are of paramount importance hence the cancelation.

“Following increased and overwhelming concerns with the rise of Covid-19 cases in Lagos, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the upcoming ‘Davido Presents DMW Live In Concert’ scheduled to take place on Dec 28th.

“Thank you to everyone that purchased tables. Your support brought us way closer to sold out status than we expected in a very uncertain time! We look forward to bringing you a DMW live in concert in the very near future,” he wrote.

DMW live in concert was to house all DMW artistes including Davido, Mayorkun, Peruzzi and their first lady Liya.

What Omah Lay and his team should have done. Entertainers must understand their responsibilities/powers (ability to pull crowd) and use them positively this season. Not think of their pockets. Kudos OBO. They should give us Nigerian version of Timbalands Verzuz.
