I have seen sound gulf 3 & 4, these cars are no longer been manufactured, how do they make it look so clean and sound like a tokunbo car. I want a overhaul of my car to look like tokunbo without any fault. i.e to check everything and replace the ageing part, but I have not seen any trustworthy mechanic. Most of the mechanic just want to do anything, lie and collect money and move on.

Learn from YouTube and forums and do it yourself since no one is trustworthy

I am currently overhauling a golf 4, I can tell you that we Nigerians have poor maintenance culture.
I got the car at a very cheap rate, chasis and body still intact, but, power steering damaged, abs not functioning, all 4 shock absorbers damaged, window regulator for front doors not functioning, all the 4 tires need replacement, air-conditioning system not functioning.
So far so good, it takes about 4 weeks to restore all things, radiator flush, timing belt change, gear oil changed, metal oil sump protector fabrication ongoing, then normal engine servicing, painting job pending.
I just like Volkswagen golf 4, reason why I choose to go for this to satisfy myself even though I have read alot about the way golf 4 in Nigeria do disappoint due to reason unknown.

I understand now, there should be competent mechanic around you, but you just need to make findings about them first.
