2.His relations begged on his behalf. Maybe got an influential Nigerian to free him.

Yes, Nigeria is corrupt....but our law enforcement is poorly funded, our prisons are filled , and most of them awaiting trial, our records system is in a shambles, and people are out to corrupt the system for their own ends.

Maybe the system does not work because Nigerians, due to their persecution mindset, do not see the reason why persectuing a drug peddler is important. All they see is a brother being persecuted which means they also are being persecuted.
