NIN is an identification number given to Nigerian citizens only. Linking it to phone numbers and deactivating phone numbers not linked means only Nigeria citizens is eligible to use a sim card in Nigeria. What about those who are on ; -Visitors visa -Tourist visa -Permanent resident -Student visas And other categories of visas. On a norm, these people are not suppose to have a NIN. So how do we expect them to make or receive calls. It doesn't make sense to force anyone to roam. We are not in North Korea for crying out loud 6 Likes |

 Anyone who stayed in Nigeria for 2 years with valid proof , or has a work permit / residency can get NIN Their capturing Officer specifically stated this when I went for capturing Infact if the name on your birth certificate had been changed, they only need DSS clearance to clear you Well In UAE or Dubai if you want a DU SIM or an Etisalat SIM as a Visa holder, they register you and capture you with a copy of your Passport data page and Visa stamp . 11 Likes 1 Share |

Most of those in government are idiots.. they don't think before they act. It's not with the pandemic and rising COVID-19 cases that you threaten to block people's lines with NIN. providencia:I don't think he is digressing , you are the one who does not understand . Your question is how will.foreigners register for a SIM card since it requires NIN , and he clearly stated that their passports will be captured and used in place of NIN , as it's done in other countries 2 Likes |
