• Job Requirement- An oil and gas servicing company seeks the services of a Procurement Personnel with at least 10 years’ experience preferably in the oil and gas sector.
Job Description
• Implements the technical purchases sourcing process including supplier selection, risk mitigation and contract execution
• Liaising with the Head of Procurement in areas of commercial or reputational risk
• Conducting interviews with vendors, negotiating supplier agreements and managing supplier and vendor contracts.
• Conducts due diligence of potential suppliers and monitors performance of prequalified suppliers;
• Evaluates suppliers’ offers in terms of the commercial and technical requirement;
• Conducts on the ground inspection of parts and materials
• Coordinates purchasing activities with other departments such as Logistics
• Works with the department head to negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers with intention to provide additional discount or other favourable terms
• Liaises with the various suppliers and sources for Local Purchase Orders (LPO)
• Liaises with the various departments to know their needs and requirements with respect to technical products and expedites the procurement process for such
• Tracks overall spending and ensures it is within the budget
Qualifications Required
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a Procurement function in a similar organisation
• Minimum of Masters degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, or any other relevant discipline.
• Member of relevant professional qualification e.g. Chartered institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS)

I work in a similar position right now but in a different industry. Besides, I have only 5 years of experience. Anyway, there are only two of us who work in this department. As far as I know, the rest of the work did this consulting agency [color=black]https://barkersprocurement.com/category-management-consulting[/color] They found suppliers and developed the logistics, while my colleague and I do just basic operations and prepare the required documents. Recently, we asked for their help again, and I suppose they will help us find new suppliers again.

Looking for this role for the number *ONE FIBRE COMPANY IN WEST AFRICA* . The Procurement Manager will lead the development and implementation of procurement
strategies to optimize organizational spending and achieve annual performance targets. Job holder
will also support the Procurement and Vendor Management team to plan, organize, direct, manage
and evaluate the technical inventory management as well as vendor management activities of the
company.
Key Responsibilities:
 Formulate and execute procurement strategies and contingency plans that align with
organizational objectives and support business needs.
 Achieve cost savings against targets and ensure suppliers conform to service level agreements.
Maintain long-term relationships with suppliers and periodically review their performance to
ensure quality and value.
 Maintain an updated supplier master list and ensure all procurement records are properly
maintained and processed promptly.
 Supervise the technical equipment and consumables inventory, ensuring item availability for
projects and operations.
 Assist in all aspects of purchasing, negotiations, strategy, and process implementation for
goods and services procurement. Ensure timely procurements to meet project timelines and
maintain clear communication with relevant departments.
 Collaborate with business leaders to identify requirements, source, contract, and procure
necessary goods and services from qualified suppliers.
 Track and report CAPEX and OPEX spend performances monthly.
 Ensure compliance with policies, best practices, and regulatory requirements, coordinating
with the Regulatory and Legal teams as needed.
 Review individual team members' performance, complete appraisals, and identify training
needs.
 Oversee foreign transactions to ensure regulatory compliance, facilitate shipment clearing
from customs, and coordinate delivery logistics. Liaise with Finance Operations and banks to
process necessary documentation for importing equipment.

Requirements:
 Bachelors or Master's Degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Supply Chain
Management or related field.
 Minimum of 8 years’ experience, with at least 7 years managing a team.
 Knowledge of sourcing and procurement technique and dexterity in supply chain
management.
 Possesses the ability to work effectively and efficiently communicate well.
 Excellent methodical, organizational and systems development skills.
 Basic knowledge of Networking Essentials, specifically data networks.
 Good knowledge of Procurement, Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
 Ability to manage and motivate suppliers.
 Excellent sourcing and negotiation skills.
