Prevention is better than cure. Your post is going to give many hope that they can recover their funds after failed investments. If the company is a private limited liability there is nothing even EFCC can do. As long as they can prove it's not a fraud. What will EFCC do?

From research, over 95% small businesses fail in the first 5 years. Loss is loss. It is why it is limited liability company registration to protect entrepreneurs. What I can deduce here is that the company can easily use corona virus as an excuse, and will get away with it. Nothing all of them can do.

Can the company prove they use the money to do what they collected it for? If yes, it's not an EFCC case. It's purely loss in business. Let us get issues right in this country. U are very correct. I see many offers myself, 20-25% return every month or 3 months and I'm like, how will this people stay afloat with such offers. Imagine 3-5 people investing 1 million naira each and you're promising 250k to each person monthly or every three months forgetting it won't be rosy all the time, day to day expenses. After sharing ROI what will be left as profit.

Your uncle is the only one the law might force them to pay. Even they are bankrupt and even they hide under limited liability company, the manager will not rest in his sleep. As long as you keep making sure you let your audience know the condition of your uncle and why he had no choice but to invest with them, I swear, the MD will not have peace of mind. People will frustrate his life. Do not rest. Do not get tired. They will attend to your uncle. If the MD likes, let him run away, if you can track his extended family, just leverage on this point. They are to pay him 580,000 naira and after so many calls and coming on Nairaland, the MD called him and they paid 100k and promised to pay the rest few days after and never did , he called and called more than 100 times, he never picked , it’s over a month now
