Now all his so called friends who had more than enough but didn't care a dime will come out and be posting on their social media pages about how close they were and how they are going to miss him.

It is sad he is dead but, it is not the responsibility of his friends to cater for his medical bills. If they help more blessings to them but you cannot hold your breath in anticipation for their help. It is the government's and his responsibility to take care of his health. I know I sound cold but that's the way it works. Remember, we all have our own issues and problems to take care of.
