MSGAMBLE9:
Their ILLUSION is mind_boggling

It's a success in their own Dimension concorted by Nightmare..i hope the next Strange's movie pull them out of it.

Oghene-biko!!
they invented a term called pandemic success. Imagine 200M movie making only 80M after two weeks and it is considered a success.

And how can someone rate that movie above 0/10 or 0% or 0/5 or 0/4 or 0 star out of 4stars angry

nonsense excuse.
MCU made over 10 directors and they did not create nonsense potholes like this.

Before we know, DC will say wonder woman 1984 happened in another universe. angry

if no movie made 2x of its budget then they are all box office flops and failure. But wonder woman will be the biggest box office flop for 2020.
Even with 2x of the budget made it might not break even when film promotion and advert on major event is factored in e.g X-men' DoFP only made a profit of $77m despite making $750m in BO from budget of $205m.

Not to talk of one making $86m from $200m budget.

I laff in Pigin!!

And the stupid Jokers had the guts to threaten WB with tickets price cuts. grin
With this move they'll be begging for salvation. If this stats continues WB will be in a high pedestal to dictate sharing formula(maybe 60/40% or 45/55% for blockbusters) and how long movies spend on cinemas and on primetime. grin
They'll be begging WB now as there are the only studios rn ready to release their top rated movies on both streaming and in cinemas

I think Netflix will survive. They're a powerhouse and got the financial muscle and content to counter the 2 New Bigshots.

They ain't slouching either. Netflix is also on a rampaging run to acquire Big Titles in Big or Popular Genres. Eg They Acquired The Witcher and we saw how big and so talked about it was for them. They got Avatar: The Last Airbender rights also– that's a huge fandom from Anime fans and Gen X and Z audiences.
They also recently acquired DC's The Sandman and are currently in production, filming the Series starts soon if not already. They also got Stranger Things(which I'm yet to watch cry).

Amazon is doing same with the painful acquisition of LOTR. I would have loved the series on HBOMax so it can be bigger with more critical mass of Big Titles. They acquired also upcoming Wheel of Time.
These big studios I mentioned know how important it is to invest Big in Fantasy or Adventure Titles. Reason why Apple TV is trying that with SEE.
All in all na we the viewers go enjoy am. grin Especially Fantasy Junkies like meself. grin grin

The only people I pity is Peacock and the likes especially Apple TV+. grin
You have a point. However, i believe Netflix will face a huge challenge with beloved contents being pulled out permanently from their streaming service.

Disney has pulled out most of their Marvel shows and likely to pull out major contents once their contract with Netflix expires. Same with WB, Sony, Universal etc.

Other streaming service like Amazon are making Superhero shows like The Boys, and LOTR show (cost them $1bn for tv rights)

Netflix most popular shows are Stranger things and Umbrella Academy. And I don't think UA can match the boys or marvel or DC shows.

The reason why they aren't shaking yet is because they are more grounded and world wide, but in time HBOmax and D+ will likely push it out of the number 1 spot.

We have to wait and see sha.

As for peacock, since their content is free I don't mind subscribing once available in africa cheesy

Heard of Static Shock going into production. Thought it was for theatrical.

Shame, I would have preferred it in Theatrical DCEU. Getting a solo movie for a Black Superhero Character. It would have been very popular with the PG-13 audience.
Static shock and Batgirl are likely to be both on streaming and theatrical just like WW84

this makes no sense. Wonder woman can catch reverse flash at top speed.
Cheetah in year of the villian event, needed external powers to match wonder woman speed
Superman was faster than speed in a race.
In fact, superman is faster than all speedsters.

You forgot to add the recent acquisition of the Elder Scrolls by Netflix!

Truth is, it will take Disney+ and Hbomax years to catch up with Netflix!

Netflix is Walt Disney of The Streaming World. Hulu and Disney+ combined cannot come close in many years to come!

Netflix don't just make films, they also acquire/license from other Studio's. How do you beat that? Last time I checked, both Disney and Warner Bros will gladly license out their titles for a fee to Netflix!

Last last, AT&T or Walt Disney fit just acquire them.

There was this scene in JL where WW was falling down the Gotham harbour and couldn’t reach for her sword and Flash helped push it to her. If they had allow her fly in the movie she wouldn’t have struggled to catch the sword. Or maybe the scene was added for cinematic effect grin

Remove Disney+ from that equation. HBOmax will try, but Netflix is far ahead at this point. HBO and DC alone can't feed HBOmax the type of steady content they need to compete with Netflix at this point. Why? CBM is just a genre. Too much of it, you will get tired! The merging of HBO and CINEMAX is a good start. But, as you can see, it still did not do it.

Here's the only thing I will say About Wonder Woman:

DC should stop watering down their top heroes. We went from a Warrior and God killer to a cheesy washed down woman who is stuck on an old love. It's quite understandable though. But, what I don't understand is the cheesy fight scenes.

Marvel never watered down Captain America and Thor's fight scenes despite everything. In fact, and I hope I'm not wrong, the best fight scenes in Marvel movies always involved both of them.

Hmm, True. In terms of Content Pull out after contract ends, I think Netflix already prepared for that. With the massive pull outs of Friends SNL and the likes I thought Netflix will be reeling but they still hold firm...

I agree with you though, we won't know who's winning the War cos we just seeing Battles won and lost now. Not until 2022 we'll know who the true Players are. Battle for Top 3 Remains and Market Share between the big 4( Netflix, Amazon, Disney+, HBOMAX). So far so good Netflix and Disney+ and to a lesser extent Amazon has been winning this year.

End of 2022 is when full stats and evaluation begins to pour in how each fared. Cos that's the year of Reckoning. grin. HBOMax and Disney+ will have been perfecting their Global reach and their biggest contents/Titles might have arrived with full force. Then we'll be able to judge.

<<<<<<<<2022>>>>>>>>
Disney would have launched about 5 or six Marvel shows on D+. Some additional Star Wars shows and some Live Action Adaptations of Disney/Pixar heading to D+.

Netflix would have fully established their Witcher universe, Avatar would have been released that year. The Sandman also debuting in 2021/22.

Amazon Would have released LOTR in 21 or later 2022. Wheel of Time should have had a headstart. The Boys continues to cement itself massive cult following and casual audiences.

HBOMax would have released SnyderCut, Matrix 4, Mortal Kombat and the GOAT~ GOT Prequel debuts in 2022. Green Lantern Corps and Justice League Dark series must have debut that Year, HBOMax also spreads its wings worldwide. Lovecraft Country gets its Cult following. DC films start releasing HBOMax targeted Movies.

It's a hugely competitive year both in Theatrical Box Office Domination(DC Vs Marvel/ Disney Vs WB Vs Universal) and Streaming bragging rights.

That year is the year when we'll know who's Top Dog and who Viewers will prefer to align with.

I pray WB fared well. Disney will get the job done(Theatrical at least). Netflix shouldn't be counted out. Amazon got a Joker Card in LOTR. Let's wait and see.

Why should we remove Disney+?? They're the Cheapest even tho they're bumping the price up next year and they've got a massive Rise in Subscribers. Those Franchises they've amassed alone is Tantamount to Success~ [ Star Wars, Marvel, Fox, Pixar and Disney].
Through Netflix is far Ahead at this point. It's still early days and they'll be comfortable for now, not until 2022 and the Tides brings its waves along. That year is the precipice.

Even without Disney+ and HBOMax, Netflix got Amazon to think of– which happens to be the only streamer with Hundreds of Millions of Subscribers after Netflix. The LOTR Amazon is releasing ehn, if it truly plays to its strengths it should Rattle Netflix gains and easily puts Amazon on a pedestal of almost equal competition.
I'm just pained AT&T couldn't nab LOTR series, it would have been very easy for world Dominion with HBOMax.

They can help themselves now by Acquiring ailing MGM which is Home to James Bond and willing to sell to the highest bidder now for about $5.5bn. just too bad AT&T is in Neck Deep Indebtedness~ over $150bn.

Don't be too quick to write off D+ yet, as it has two very popular franchises (Marvel and Star wars) aside it's classic animations and espn. Currently, D+ subscribers has reached 83m(although the cheap subscription fee is a major factor) , which almost half of Netflix 200m subscribers and achieved in less than 1 year+.

HBOmax also is gaining far more grounds despite starting off poorly, being the most expensive streaming service and only available in the US, and they are getting more and more subscribers each day.

As we speak, Netflix is losing a lot of it's beloved TV shows as most are either cancelled or pulled out. For example Chilling adventures of sabrina was cancelled (or quickly ended) by Netflix despite huge popularity. I came to find out that it is a DC owned comic. Meaning WB has the rights to it and might have pulled the plug just like how marvel did with Dare devil. Same thing is likely to happen to Lucifer on Netflix.

Currently, Netflix brasil tweeted to its followers that they are stopping some of their popular shows. Guess the streaming service those shows are going to? Over time, they will lose subscribers of these beloved shows to competition and will be greatly affected in the long run as major studios will keep unplugging and removing their movies/shows from netflix.

Netflix needs to wake up and act fast by releasing top content regularly or face the consequences of the streaming wars in the long run imo

Exactly, D+ shouldn't be written off yet. However, don't be pained for LOTR series because from what I read, that series cost a fortune to buy and make. It cost Amazon $1bn to purchase tv show rights from WB/Author and will cost a lot to produce. Also, WB will get a percentage from the cash made on it

Also I don't think ppl are getting Superhero Fatigue yet as Hollywood analysts have been claiming for 2 yrs now. In fact it's CBM craze right now. I think Superhero movies will still wax strong and dominate this Decade. They're even on the Rise as the new normal.

Pointers are in performance of last two yrs:
*Aquaman a largely unknown character to General audiences made over a Billion dollars.
* A Black Superhero Black Panther grossed almost $2bn($1.7bn).
*Joker with Action-less Drama destroyed the holiday charts and awards Buzz. grin $1bn gross.
*Avengers: Endgame obliterated records and is the highest grosser Ever.
* Spiderman gets its first Billion Dollar gross ever.
* Weak As_s Captain Marvel with shitty acting and wack storyline and portrayals got $1bn.
* Critically destroyed Venom still grossed over $800mn.
* Wonder Woman 1984 still tearing Pandemic Records that even Nolan and Tenet couldn't do, that's with simultaneous Streaming.

With the kind of Ramped up production for DC and HBO content AT&T is doing they can one up Netflix in the long run. They might not yet have the critical mass but they've got the Tier 1 Quality and recognisable Franchises. Also the Crowd Pullers are available to them.
They're playing the long game. Both Disney and WB know they can't just take out Netflix not even Amazon at this point.

What you're also forgetting is acquisition of Talents: Directors, Actors, Screenwriters, Showrunners that will propel their IP. Some of them got massive fanbase, that can help with Promoting and Bolstering their Franchise. Eg. WB with James Gunn, JJ Abrams, James Wan, Matt Reeves etc... Disney~ Feige, George Lucas, Taika Waititi, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie etc.
