lol @ this troll.

So, Jona started Lagos Ibadan Railway in 2012 and by the time he left office in 2013, not a single track was laid, Jona even traveled into the future to help VP Osinbajo flag off the same project in 2017?

This is one miseducated villager.

GEJ was subsidizing PMS at that time & with a lot of our yearly budget on recurrent expenditure, a train will be too expensive.

Although, the government started the project but was going to take a lot years to reach completion (without loan).

A train will be too expensive at $120 par barrel during PDP/ GEJ but Diezani Alison and co could loot Billon of $ to buy Gold during your pay masters regime?

GEJ borrowed money from China to finance rail projects and he still borrowed hundreds of billions every month to pay workers salaries so what's your point?

You need to educate yourself and stop spewing ignorant rubbish.
But U first said GEJ didn't start train project. Now U, again is saying he collected loan to start a train project.

That means Nigeria's economy (without loan) can't afford a train project.

If Nigeria's economy had enough funds to buy train, then why did they turn to China.

You are talking about gold bought by Deziani which is very wrong but U 4got Aisha Buhari who has been outside the country spending dollars on clothing, accommodation & feeding for the past 4 months.

Moral of the story, what they thought was impossible in Nigeria under their crooked, corrupt and incompetent 16 years regime was achieved in less than 3 years.

God was obviously on our side when we got rid of the PDP for good.

Does this not also defeat your aim?
Same govt built Abuja-Kaduna rail while Doyin said that.
Though it could be argued those rails are not exactly new. If you know, you know.

In what way?

Watch the video, the question he was asked in the video was why they bought old locomotives/trains, not who or what built railway? His answer was Nigeria's economy can not support new trains,

There's a difference between trains and railway.

Watch the video and understand the topic before your next comment.

It will also interest you that Abuja-Kaduna rail though longer was completed in a shorter period.

You should also watch the video well too. The question was in relation to the refurbished narrow gauge. The refurbishment was actually carried out by NRC and at less cost, which was why NRC could do it.
His response was that NRC can't afford new trains.
People have gone on to educate you that both Abuja-Kaduna & Lagos-Ibadan rail were built by loans.
I also found the statement offensive then. But events have unfortunately proven it to be true.
Or do you borrow to buy what you can afford?

As a matter of fact, Lagos-Ibadan rail followed the same trajectory with Abuja-Kaduna. If Buhari had lost in 2019, the new govt would have been the one commissioning the rail.
So in effect, there's no much difference. It's still OBJ's rail masterplan at work and the Chinese are determining the pace.
If APC are any smart, instead of wanking themselves to a stupor over the rail, they should start thinking of maximising its utility by having it do cargo more than passenger which it is doing presently.

I should also add. The real kudos should go to osinbajo. If it were left to Buhari, this rail wouldn't be signed in 2017. He was busy fiddling since the rail was not going north. It was his absence osinbajo capitalised on and got the deal sealed effortlessly.

I did and and I also started this thread.

The question was Why cant we have brand new trains and his answer was "You can not have brand new trains because the economy can not support that"

Trying to divert the topic with the other rubbish the man said is a waste of time, you can debate thaton your own.

Now, of what relevance is your argument that both projects were financed with loans? Is this the topic or is this being disputed?

Or the fact that both were financed with loans means one must have new trains while the other shouldn't because the economy couldn't support new trains?

I know what you are doing, but you are not making any sense even with your diversionary and derailing tacticts.

This is what I don't get about you and your type.

So, Nigeria couldn't afford new trains when oil was selling for over $100/barrel and under the same government that earned N51 trillion from oil?

So, Nigeria couldn't afford new trains under the same government that stole and shared $2.3 billion, money that was enough to build 2 Lagos Ibadan railway without borrowing 1kobo from China or any country?

What is offensive is people like you insulting our intelligence with your thoughtless and corrupt rubbish.

Wait a minute. If you mean Nigeria can actually afford new trains, why have this present administration not bought new trains for the narrow gauge since they came into power?
Shall we also apply your script and label them corrupt too?
At least they met the narrow gauge working.

Average oil price for Jonathan was $100 Buhari is $40

If Buhari has the kind of money that Jonathan had and Nigeria economy is still like this under him, I would have cursed his generation since a long time ago.

Nigeria's problem is over dependent on oil, it's the source of 90% of our revenue but hypocrisy would not let many people acknowledge that fact.

Today, Nigeria built Lagos Ibadan railway and supplied it with new trains, they did nit say you as a Nigerian don't deserve new trains because our economy can not support new trains while looting and sharing $2.3 aka DASUKU ATM, money that was more than enough to build 2 Lagos Ibadan railway without borrowing 1 kobo from anywhere.
