Now many people have BVN (Bank Verification Number) which is been giving to you by the Banks in order for you to be identified because there are many Bank account owners out there.

As the world digitalization grows the knowledge in many Fraudsters and scammers upgrade.


Fraudsters are now into Banks such as UBA, GTB, FCMB, FIRST BANK and many other as they intend to fraud Bank account owners of their money. Most of these Fraudsters use peoples BVN to withdraw money from their accounts.



It's now likely that if your BVN is linked to any mobile network sim card, don't disclose it to anyone.

These Fraudsters often create fake and fraudulent website and ask you to fill your account details and phone number linked to your BVN.

There is this site I saw.. had to tell my friends and family to not register on the site. Though it look real but na scam site posing like federal government with the interest of giving people relief fund.

Also, Do note that any application form you're filling online partaining to federal government jobs or relief fund, you must present your Bvn, hence that shouldn't be a yardstick to conclude it's fake.

no one can withdraw money from your account with your BVN without your consent. This does not mean you should paste your BVN indiscriminately.

A very stupid post.

Nobody can do anything with your BVN.

NOBODY

How will the person get to know the 4 last digits of my ATM? even if you steal my sim card, you can't do shit until I fall for any phishing or social engineering which I won't.

And nowadays I have set all my sim cards to request for PIN (except the one I use in my USB Modem) , stealing my phone and to use any of my sim linked to a financial account will not work for any fraudster

Can you clearly explain how a BVN number can be used to withdraw funds from a bank account?

stupid post... withdrawing money from an account usually takes 3 step....initialization, authorization and verification..... nobody can go through those three steps with just bvn which is just a form of identification....
