NEW channels for telecommunication subscribers to link their National Identity Number (NIN) with their SIM cards have been announced by Globacom. The announcement which was made in Lagos by the telecommunications provider, was to enable its customers seamlessly complete the update process in compliance with the directive of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

The expanded channels entail the following: “Firstly, our customers can simply text their NIN to 109. Alternatively, they may dial *109# or *109*your NIN# directly. Customers can also call 109 to update their NIN via voice call.” The company stated in its announcement.

“Customers who do not have their NIN can dial *346# to retrieve the number if they have already registered with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), while those yet to register are reminded to visit any NIN enrolment center to get one.” Globacom further said.

These new measures are part of the company’s commitment to ensuring that customers have an uninterrupted experience on its network, and is also a demonstration of its support for the regulators efforts to create a secure and sustainable industry.

All Globacom subscribers with further enquiries are encouraged to contact any of its customer contact channels or visit https://www.gloworld.com/ng/nin for further support.

He very good in what he does and a very intelligent scammer, he knows how to count u in whatever you say.. He is just insinuating that u should wait tell he scam anyone then u can him a scammer, whereas his one u don't need to wait before you call him out..

Is GLO your default line/main line used for Nimc registration ? Or u just registered your NIN on ur glo recently?

MTN is my main line which I used for Nimc registration, and I didn't register recently

Has anybody been able to dial *346# for retrieval of his/her NIN after registration?Because I submitted successfully and anytime I tried to retrieved using the above code, it kept telling me NIN doesn't exist I should visit nearest Nimc office.

The code only works on the line submitted at the point of enrollment at NIMC, and sometimes work on lines linked to your BVN, even when you have never enrolled formerly. This is because there is an interface between NIMC and NIBSS.

If you have never enrolled and you are somehow able to retrieve your NIN using the code, you are still required to visit a NIMC to formerly enroll. But in such case, they will simply print out the new enhanced slip with QR code feature. Endeavor to request for the new slip.

Thanks for the detail explanation. My mtn line is the one I submitted at Nimc in 2015. Linked to my gtbank and when I dialled my mtn my NIN display. I registered my GLO and Etisalat lines with same NIN. Whenever I want to check my NIN on my other lines kept telling me data doesn't exist, I should go to the nearest Nimc office, when I have even collected my original ID card from NIMC
