I got this inspiration that many of us have not realized the height of opportunity the www offers us. But just as the new era makes connection easy, it also makes disconnection. For instance, you can lose a multimillion naira contract because of a post you made on Facebook.

I was giving a free webinar to some people recently. It was a sub-set of another class. I promised to add someone but I forgot. He came accusing me with such dirty words you'd think he paid me for the webinar.

As I replied him, here are the words that came out:

“To be honest with you, I forgot to add you. I'm sorry. So, I will add you to the one I am starting this morning.

But dear, I won't fail to tell you this: Someone said, "Your ATTITUDE in life determines your ALTITUDE in life. I believe you understand my point. I mean that you could have approached this whole situation with a BETTER attitude. It's for your good any way, in case no one has told you this. You don't know the person you are meeting online sometimes.

Let me tell you, even Dangote might have an account on Nairaland. These days, you can meet ANYONE anywhere. But if you don't have a responsible attitude, your bad attitude will keep disconnecting your connections. Thanks."

This is a lesson everybody using the www needs to learn. So, learn it. Be responsible in your communication, behavior, and interaction on the web. It could make or break you.

Imagine a situation where someone you have insulted, cursed or threatened has the opportunity to employ 10 people and he wants to do it on nairaland. He posts the link and people begin to show interest and apply. He decides to go through the post of applicants and he finds out some are ill-mannered, supporting all sort of nonsense and obviously unemployable..hehehe
