“It should be a crime to bring children into this world you don’t intend to train and nurture” – JJ Omojuwa

Nigerian media personality, Japheth J. Omojuwa has said it should be a crime for people to give birth to children that the neither intend to train nor nurture.

Omojuwa averred that such acts be classified as capital crime and a sin because it is “like bringing a life into the world to make them suffer before killing them.”

It should be discussed and agreed on even at relationship levels before going into marriage.
I do it and encourage everyone to do same.

Towards the last quarter of last year, a friend and I were discussing about the future. And so I stylishly told him, I only want one child and he quickly rebuked me saying he would want us to have more. Huh??. I tried making him see reasons why having so many won't be a good idea but he wouldn't hear of it, so I made up my mind that he's definitely not the right person to make plans with. Hes still asking why I called it quits. He doesn't know it's partly because of the issue of number of children.
I can't come and be a baby factory in this times the economy is not smiling.

Please, let's drop the African mentality of " it's not good to have only one". Most American presidents have one or two and these are very rich people and their one child is still very much alive and doing well.
You don't bring children into the world you can't cater for. It's wrong.
