sod09:Hehehehe. Bought for 45m and sold for 20m. Scored 10 goals in 48 league games. A massive, massive flop. Heck yeah, he will feel at home at Assanal flanked by Pepe and Willian forming the iron curtain attack, But wait o, which kain football you dey watch wey Haller good for your eye? |

afrodoc2:Lol... You deh misunderstand Sod I think. He meant Haller-and(halaand) not Haller. Haba, sod no fit dislike arsenal up to that extent for suggesting Haller to take over auba at arsenal. Nah, I can't believe he can ![]() |

sod09:Explain to your fellow fan that is mocking you. Hehehe. Jodera:Una for buy am na. Frontline of Pepe, Willian, Haller. 2 wing forwards that neither create nor score and a center forward that neither scores nor creates. He was so good that West Ham that bought him for 45m when he had 2yrs left on his contract only to sell him at a loss for 20m when he had 3.5 yrs left on his contract. |

| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by afrodoc2: 3:55pm On Jan 08, 2021 |
sod09:This would make sense only if Ajax was another name for Assanal OR if Assanal was going to play in the UCL anytime soon. We are teaching you that he is a proven EPL flop who will most likely be a liability at any top EPL club you are bringing "in other news". |

| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by sod09(m): 4:29pm On Jan 08, 2021 |
Jodera:Torreira is flopping at arsenal doesn't make him a bad player, westham hardly play with cd they prefer versatile kind of player like anthonio. I understand why dockie is attacking, I went to drag their lord and saviour(penalty merchant) for ghosting in big games it's like I striked some nerves ![]() "West Ham Have Signed 38 Strikers Since 2010 And They've Only Scored 203 Goals In 957 Games - SPORTbible" https://www.sportbible.com/football/reactions-news-fails-transfers-west-ham-have-signed-37-strikers-since-2010-20190710.amp.html |

mostob:We are obligated to repay by May, no extensions, I think the club already has plans to make that happen. The impact of the pandemic is hitting everyone. Spuds accessed the same loan option last year to the tune of 175M. Without fans, a significant drop in merchandise sales coupled with no Asian/ American tours in the Summer means the club is is financially struggling because of a lack of income. Also, remember, the UK just imposed another total lock down and that will dampen our finances even more because prior to that we were seeing 2000 fans.. that was something at least. |

Spy360:Absolutely, I will forever remain grateful to Wenger because of how he steered the club, made sacrifices and took a lot of heat for the owners in the face of a self sustaining model. Arsenal would have been underwater if Wenger was not the head coach. Arsenal needs to get into the UCL especially if this pandemic continues to keep fans out of the stadium. We can not afford seasons without good paying competitions. Do you know how much revenue we lost from not going to Asia/ US for our tours? Also, sale of club merchandise have dropped significantly as it is closely associated to stadium visits/ tours etc. |

Roland17:This covid is a real problem o. BTW, I don't think we should be expecting any new signing. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Roland17(m): 4:55pm On Jan 08, 2021 |
mostob:The issue with Saliba’s situation for most Arsenal fans is the lack of clarity in communication. Arteta failed to clarify why exactly the kid was frozen and not registered. I know the plan was to register him for EL but Mari made a quick recovery that no one expected and by that time it was late to register him for the league. Arteta’s communication is very poor of you ask me especially with regards to player management. Saliba looked like a player that has been out of active football for a long time when he features for Nice. Remember he is being coached at Nice by P. Viera. I don’t know if the quality of the French League will help him improve. I wish he was sent to a top Championship side, La Liga or Germany. Let’s see what happens though, I will be keeping an eye on him. |

Roland17:Agreed. Arteta said he will be back for pre season with us. Hopefully, a new chapter for the Lad next season. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 6:01pm On Jan 08, 2021 |
Roland17:Sincerely, as most fans never realised what was going on backstage, the blame for trophylessness was hinged on him and the board absolved. He was accused of not buying whereas no money was made available. At times he had to tell diplomatic lies just to cover up. No modern coach will accept such humiliation from fans. That said, it's a good thing such info is coming out so that fans can trim their expectations. For as it is now, I do not expect any signings this January and I am putting our CL away for another min two years. That also means that proper attention should be given to our youth setup both in training and acquiring quality youngsters, that should be the model going forward. |

Roland17:Funny enough, Vieira has been sacked ,as Nice coach. As it is now, our defense has been very stable and I believe the manager will not want to disrupt the rhythm. Saliba himself must have requested for the loan arrangement to keep fit and gain playing time. As you said, communication from the manager has been poor. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by sod09(m): 8:02pm On Jan 08, 2021 |
Roland17:I think viera was sacked,he had a ball game on his debut too |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Roland17(m): 8:09pm On Jan 08, 2021 |
Spy360:If fans are still away from the stadium with no summer tours, the embolden is a dangerous/ risky proposition that can worsen our situation financially. However, if fans return and the team can embark on summer tours and increase revenue then 2 years is good as long as we can win trophies (EL/FA), keep the roster trim and finish as high as we can. Don't get me wrong, I understand why you said 2 years but it may be too long of a time that we can not afford. This is the reason why I have been on Arteta about making the changes we need because we have to be swift in reacting to get this ship sailing in the right direction. |

sod09:My bad, I just dug into that. I believe you mean "Saliba had a bad game"? That is why I said he looked like someone that has been out of competitive football for a long time especially the 2nd goal Nice conceded. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by sod09(m): 8:22pm On Jan 08, 2021 |
Roland17:yeah saliba just checked him out He got carded early in the game because of his heavy touch, but there's still room for improvement |

Na beg I dey beg Arteta. Please if Partey is not ready do not rush him back because it may spell the end of his season if he reinjures that same hamstring. I honestly do not trust our Medical team especially with managing muscle injuries. If he is ready then slowly reintegrate him to the team. Na beg I dey beg, I have seen this movie too many times over the years! |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 1:08am On Jan 09, 2021 |
Roland17:Two years is in terms of my personal expectations. Now I don't see much difference financially between us and any midtable team with their own stadium. The likes of Chelsea, Man Utd, City and even Liverpool with their sugar daddies will be hard to overtake within this short time. Since we want to be self sustaining, we must turn our eyes more away from external acquisition of players and look more inwards. That's the model used by the likes of Ajax, RB Leipzig etc. It works, just that it will take some time. At least they performance ofvthe current graduates prove so. |

Roland17:I think he learnt his lesson, but he pushed martinelli after the city game I guess that's why he didn't use him against westbrom. It's Tierney I am afraid for, he's looking like a tackle or fall from injury and no back up |

Even if most of us might loathe Emery style of play and what he did to arsenal, we should thank him for unleashing sakadinho on us
