Hello everyone. Is there anyone who has landed in Canada in 2021 amidst this lockdown? Specifically someone with COPR dated after March 2019 and no authorisation letter? I would like to travel as soon as possible so please any help/tip would be appreciated.

Good day all. Kindly help a brother

I applied for Canada work permit last year Feb. I paid agent 500k to balance 1.5m when d Visa is out. Then was promised in six months time everything to set. Corona came and scattered every where

Since then I have been calling them on monthly intervals and they keep saying Canada is in lock down and most companies are closed down. Since companies are closed, no recruitment

I wish to know how true is this though they called me on Jan 5 if I still wish they continue the process or get a full refund of my money. They also told me that they have other countries they are still processing that are not really badly affected by Corona.

I wish to know if truly Canada is in lockdown that caused companies to closed down. And also if there is any hope for reopening of these companies within the shortest period of time.

Thanks in anticipation for an answer

Couldn’t you have made your points without the use of the words in bold?

Yes, COVID cases are on the rise and many parts of Canada are on lockdown. Some companies have closed and many others are not employing. Unfortunately, there's no telling when this will end.

Get your full refund and run with it.

Do as if you spent the money in a bar, assume you’ve spent the money already.

You’ve been dupe, there nothing like Canada work permit for Nigerians.. Hope they didn’t input contracting information in whatever they did.

actually anyone can get work permit. The issue is getting that job offer. Indias, chinese and Phillipinos are able to get it because their people have big companies or businesses they use to give their people job offers. How many Nigerians have those kind of businesses in canada. People should stay away from the 2 years stuff agents are promising upandan. A big scam

Wow, it's been a while I checked up on this page. Congratulations to all new and prospective PRs.

In case anyone is interested, I'll be offering free rides (once per weekend) from Toronto Pearson to anywhere in the GTA for the next few months (WEEKENDS ONLY).

Some Caveats:
1. I have a five seats passenger vehicle (so your luggage should be reasonable in size and numbers).
2. You must let me know at least 48 hours prior to your arrival at Toronto Pearson.
3. I'm a fairly "racy" driver meaning I drive on average 120-140 km/hr on the Expressway (with a posted limit of 100 km/hr) so it goes without saying that you should be comfortable with that.

Good luck to everyone.

Good day guys. My wife uncle , who is a Canadian citizen, aged 60 years wants me to come for visit. My questions are: 1, must he indicate in the invitation that he will take care of my accomodation and feeding and what other documents must he submit. 2, will IRCC see my application as extended or immediate family member, what are my chances here to avoid refusal. 3, I currently works with a corporate organisation, will I submit my bank statemnt because I will book the flights ticket myself. 4, The major reason for the visit is for us to discuss prospective job offer, but I hope I should not indicate this as reason for the visit and what should i indicate be the best reason for the visit

I can't say as of now, but as of December 31st 2020, people were landing without any letter. All you need to have is your covid test result. But to be sincere, people are still landing till tomorrow.

Simply do the covid test and have the result with you. Make sure your your intended airline is allowing passengers fly with the test, ẹ.g. Ethiopian Airlines.

You should sign on for Formula 1, why restrict yourself to 120-140km/hr, when you can do 300-350km/hr on the circuit.

I hope you don't do this on wet or snow-covered roads, that will be tempting fate too far.

Notwithstanding, your offer is very generous.

Good day everyone,
Please I wanted to ask, what's the cheapest/easiest way to source for USD or CAD while one is still in Nigeria? Especially if the person has a Nigerian dorm account.

Thanks for helping out

Rather than looking for the cheapest/easiest way, look for the safest way. There are a lot of scammers out there with very cheap rates. Some people just got scammed in recent times. BEWARE!!!.

true, there are scammers in many Canadian groups now. Just go to any bdc or mallam. Change and move on. Better than being scammed looking for cheap rates.

Best bet convert to usd and keep in dom account. Withdraw cash in canada . Take it to a bank here and exchange for 1.28 to 1.30.

Or get here open an account and start sourcing for CAD in different groups .Very scarce and frustrating.

Wow..crazy, just sad that people always find a way to scam people even when they can make a legit profit from it.

I was just considering the high black market rate.

Lol..I was hoping that there would be some mobile app that I can fund via my Naira account and get dollar in an account for cheap.

Anyways, Aboki dollar it is. smiley

You and your spouse can get up to $8k (max of 4k per person) at official rates from the bank as PTA (nigeria factor go dey, be ready tp bribe somebody, lol). You need to show your visas and passports plus confirmation of accommodation bookings. It's hard but like I said, if you know your way, you will get it lol. $8k should keep you going for a while.

I don’t think you need accommodation booking. The only thing I know is that it’s now compulsory you have a return ticket. So you need visa, passport and ticket (I don’t know about bribe though. Didn’t have to do that). Also bear in mind that forex is scarce even in banks. So you might have to go well in advance to apply. I also know in December, GTbank restricted PTA to 2k per person and they like added all requests Monday -Wednesday and gave the cash on Thursday. Something like that. Plan accordingly.

Good day All,

I recently got PPR (family of 3). I am in a dilemma and I would appreciate your opinions as to which option to go with. My wife works with one of the Big 4s and she needs to give them 3months notice b4 resignation.

Option 1: I land alone, try to settle into the country and make adequate provisions for her and the kid. With this plan, wife and kid would come after her 3months notice period. However, someone told me that if I come alone, immigration may not allow them entry because I am the PA and that the PA is expected to travel with them.

Option 2: She applies for leave from work and We all come together but she and d kid do softlanding. They return back to Nigeria after spending one month and she drops her resignation letter and wait out the 3 months notice period. My issue with the second option is that we would have to spend money on flight twice..

Pls house I need your opinions

Is PTA not meant for only people with return ticket? Im not even sure if any bank is selling PTA right now.
