The grasshoppers are mostly cought in Maiduguri. Traders make serious profit selling grasshoppers. Do you know that according to Un food and Agricultural organisation, grasshoppers is rich with protein, vitamins, fibre and minerals and it a cheaper option for protein compared to other meat. We spoke to a trader who said they that they normally get the grasshoppers from Maiduguri, and transport it to kaduna. A beg (sack) is sold for 50 thousand.
