This was when he was advising Anambra state to build a small terminal building and focus on the runway system and tower, but due to too much hyping he later finds out that the runway and control tower is not a child play, now he's pointing at the terminal building thinking that it's as small as the ones he advised that we should build.

Mktinsight, your evil have failed on the Anambra airport

You have failed woefully on this thread. Your evil devilish plot has failed completely, now go home. Your mental problem is embarrassing you cheesy

Anambra international airport is huge and it's almost due for commissioning.

[s]
mktinsight:

Stop deceiving people. That terminal cannot handle 1m talk less 7m. You keep talking of runway like someone that lacks knowledge of how an airport works. What matters for CAPACITY is how many access exit gates, apron size, number of baggage carousel, number of check in desks at departure hall.Lagos MMIA sees around 100 flights per day. It has 6 access gates via aerobridges. It has 31 check-in counters, 3 baggage carousels. It was built in 1979. It was built to handle 5m passengers. his is a small airport by sqm. The entire building is around 3,000 sqm or THREE TIMES smaller than Onitsha Mall. The arrival hall is probably the same size as the Shoprite supermarket in Onitsha Mall where just 100 people paying for goods creates lots of congestion for cashiers and shoppers alike.

Abeg those two are two different persons.

Then back 2 d matter...i would appreciate if y'all(those on d opposing and proposing sides) give ur points/arguments without cussing...it distorts our reading Thank you

I pray d airport's construction is handled and finished in due time so that Willie will focus on our roads.

I think an alternative route should be provided from around Eke Awka axis,,,i stand 2 be corrected. Last Christmas was hell around the market area...keke here and there, shuttles, buses all held in d gridlock. So many buyers and sellers hanging on d tiny road. My experience on d 24th wasnt so good.

The traffic from Enugwu uku down 2 Abagana was another hell biko.
Also what's been done 2 d Enugwu agidi road lying in waste now turned a dump site?

Our roads needs serious works...and if roads must be constructed or repaired, it should be done in its totality not tarring d main side of d road and leaving the 'red sand' portion untarred too. In fact, that portion should have a pavement known as pedestrian walk side and it should be completely tarred. Let's be trying to do away with d red sand signature on our roads...it makes d state looks dirty and dusty.

Honestly speaking I'm enjoying this thread

Watched the program a few days ago! Who he and his electricity coy were didn’t register with me at first, but as i was about to take a sip of my morning cha, the teacup stopped halfway on its journey to my mouth as i heard him mention Okija as where they sited their power generation plant! Then it hit me who he and his coy were and i rewound the Sky box to watch again! shocked

I think he also mentioned foreign investors were ready to commit up to $1 Billion, but that policy inconsistencies and the usual Abuja *incompetence (*my word, not his) was stalling the investments!

Is this an Igbo thread?

Whether it is part of Igbo or not, take the trash too the place it is supposed to be.

Obey rules of engagement and rules of nairaland by posting in the right place.

You don't have any right to tell me what to do. I have my right to decide what to do here. The ongoing construction of Anambra airport is being discussed here, so I thought it's wise to post Imo international cargo airport just to show the current state of the airport. Guy, the airport is so beautiful. Infact, Imo is great.

If you have not watch it, try and watch it.

Why ordinary sanitation and water supply is a feat to us is the biggest surprise in the world!

What would it take for Anambra state government to enact a law that authorizes private companies to collect monthly sanitation levies from every flat in every street to make sure the rubbish is removed twice a week? But the state government and legislature are so comatose that they will never worry about such legislation to help improve quality of life.

The Government should target a policy that mandates landlords who cannot sink private boreholes to come together a sink one borehole per street or 2 or 3 streets in high density areas like Awada, Omaba, Nkpor, Woliwo etc. What will it take for the state government to pass a legislation that landlords in high density areas must come together to set up a borehole system at the edge of each street and pipe the water into each compound in that street for a small monthly fee for water supply from every flat in each house? But they won't pass such law.

I am truly disturbed that we don't have leaders that care about how to use the instrumentality of government to help people organize themselves to provide water, sanitation and fix their roads with interlocking stones. Mind you nobody is asking government to spend their money in doing it for the people. Just make a law that makes it mandatory for existence of sanitation authorities funded by the people themselves and water board funded by landlords in each city themselves. Mind you, all these things will create thousands of jobs for people who would run it.

Why it is so difficult to have people in government who will use their good offices to help our people organize themselves to solve basic problems like sanitation, water supply and even creating basic streets with interlocking stones? It is truly shocking.

Making alot of sense... like this landlords are making money every months from their tenants but careless about environments. Govrt can perused landlords to put heads together to fix this. But they left them and they do as they want. Anambra is not that big that ANSG can't reach out to this horrible plight like this one. Very shameful.

I think it’s unfair on the landlords to lay the blame and responsibility for the lack of nice inner-city roads and water supply at their door mouth! I’m sure they’re already paying enough to the state and local gov’ts as it is....with all manner of taxes, levies, tenement rates and any other inventive charges the gov’t can dream up!

Rather, i think the state and local gov’ts should be arm-twisted till they howl for mercy and ‘fess up to what they actually do with all those billions they collect monthly!

Mediocre project to satisfy mediocre people like you. A place is reflected by its inhabitants. On d issues of indiscriminate dumping of refuse in our state's metropolis...the situation is quite appalling,,i think the commissioner 4 works or so should look critically on how we can revive d state's waste disposal. These things ain't rocket science...with d high population density of Onitsha and d state as a whole,Anambra state should be able to cater 4 d populace in terms of waste clearance and disposal...what happens 2 d tax collected from landlords, shop owners, market sellers etc? A part of Those taxes and levies should be able to pay workers in d waste disposal and make them responsible 4 keeping our cities neat.

Though d situation of Onitsha has abated a bit..i still remember flying dirty gutters, stepping on dead animals, excreta, piles of rubbish as a teen in the early 2000s after landing in Onitsha lol..i think Onitsha and Lagos were competing in terms of city dirts then.

But we dont want Onitsha going back 2 that era anymore. Those responsible should do d needful. Not only Onitsha even Awka. A dumpsite should be provided 4 wastes, waste trolleys, waste dumping points should be provided as we see in other beautiful cities...pple should be made to go dump their trash at those points, which will be collected every 1/2wks, waste trucks should be provided..our own IVM can help with d supply of this na.

We should be able 2 manage our cities 4 future possible investments.

Lastly, what's d state of our state's water board?

Can't we have a city water reservoir that can take care of Awka and Onitsha Metropolis. Can our govt revive our state's water board agency?

Pple should be stressing to get water or moving from one mile 2 another to get water. Can we have water taps running through our homes in 2021?

Can something be done about it?

With 2bn naira you can solve waste disposal problem in the whole state. You see its not the issue of money but the people who are running the state. The governor has no idea. He barely has a vision. In 8yrs you budget 130bn every year and you cant find 2bn to buy waste trucks for every local government and build landfill sites and waste recycling centres? This is what happens when a state is captured by Apga members, traditional, rulers, church, sychophants. There will and can not be any major progress.
Anambra needs a governor who has ideas and keeps all those i mentioned away from governance. They are private citizens and should do their own bit like many other businessmen by building roads etc and stop holding the state to ransom under a cabal. Now all we see is our people singing carols up and down but how many of them can code or programme a software? We are in a mess.

To further buttress my point this is(pic1 below) what we should be seeing in our cities especially Onitsha which is one of d leading commercial city in Night..as well in Awka the seat of governance.

And our leaders should learn to travel/visit states that are doing fine to ask questions, borrow innovative ideas on how they run most of their cities seen as d best.

Can our leaders perform diligently so as to give us bragging rights...in d league of other performing states.

A particular state in d SE has most its indigenes cussing and bickering being an indigene of that state..sometimes they wished their Past and present governors performed/performing better.

Also in reference 2 d pic2 below...can y'all see d way the whole road is completely tarred plus including a pedestrian walk lane...viola! That's how we should have our roads in Anambra so as to ward off d red sand signature which usually covers d road and makes it look somehow.. pls.

Anambra needs a green environment too..can we go green for our dear state. The govt should look into this. We need green trees in state capital as well as in Onitsha metro..in d streets as well. Pic3 looks beautiful..doesn't it? That's a pic from another state..so beautiful. We need 2 reduce d signature 'red sand' we are known for 2 d barest minimum...for a beautiful and cleaner Anambra.

I just wish authorities concerned read this thread. Our governor is trying but more hands needs be on deck for a better Anambra.

Take it to the bank, Obiano is among the few best performing governors in Nigeria. Yes I was right to mention your useless and hopeless father. Was he able to build even a hut in your village.

Yes those flyovers are beautiful as well as they are wonderful.

Anambra is among the few most advanced states in Nigeria in areas of development, infrastructures and overall development.

Anambra is the 5th largest economies in Nigeria.

Anambra has the best road networks in the region.

Anambra is the economic heartbeat of igbo land.

The same ebonyi you are yapping about. Almost 70% of ebonyi people are living in Anambra where they see as their greener.

Anambra is by far the best performing state in SE in all sectors.

Go and fix your miserable condition, because Anambra is progressively moving forward far above your useless and backward state.

Now get out and get lost because 5k monthly stipend they pay you illiterate is not worthy for you to be wasting your time 24/7 on this forum.
