We all know that federal government can't continue to sustain universities in Nigeria, the amount paying as school fees in federal universities is very poor in Nigeria, privatisation could have been a way out but if privatised , the poor masses will not be able to afford it bcux of their sources of income, the government need to create enabled working environment for it citizens so as to take away some burden. 3 Likes |

This is what we are saying greed everywhere, all we know how to do best is eat and clean mouth to the detriment of others. We don't solve problems holistically in this country, ASUU NASUU and the rest are all under the university system when the government was considering ASUU they should have also considered every body concerned. Must they go on strike before government do the right thing, ASUU as been on strike for almost 9months for GOd sake before NASUU go ground the activities in the universities for infinite. |

Slackerpenguin2:You’re right...you’re very right. But Nigerians don’t want to hear anything like that. UniMaid increased school fees from 26,000 to 34,000 and people were protesting. Imagine what will happen if they even make them pay the actual school fees they’re supposed to pay (without FG subsidy). 5 Likes |

ArcFresky: You're right partially ,but will make education very expensive. Besides the requirements of being a lecturer will still make most of them qualified for the job. Recruiter will demand for articles, PhD, Professors etc. |

When ASUU went on strike because of the non-implementation of 2009 agreement and IPPIS the other unions felt that it didn't concern them. Now they are not only complaining of the irregularities experienced by the IPPIS which ASUU had earlier warned against but the sharing formula which they played no part on it's negotiation. They should have known better, the seem to see ASUU as a rival union rather than a complementing partner. 1 Like |

blackpanda:Your bias has totally blinded you. 1. On what basis would ASUU fight for the other unions in the Universities when they couldn't form a united front in standing against IPPIS? 2. What was the JOINT agreement of ASUU with the FG about the money? 3. Who controls the payment of the money ASUU or the FG? 2 Likes |

Monkey dey work, baboon dey chop. NASU is the baboon....after the struggles of ASUU for over 10 months, NASU just came out of nowhere demanding for equal share. Where were they when ASUU was battling with FG? Nonsense and ingredients 3 Likes |

blackpanda:government, not ASUU, is the biggest problem to education...from primary school level to tertiary education level. I don't see how ASUU has exhibited greed. The request that they should be paid their entitlements, isn't it legitimate? Didn't they work for it? Do Buhari, Osibanjo, senators and reps get owed backlog of salaries and allowances? Why then must workers always be ridiculed by government to the extent that they have to ALWAYS embark on avoidable strikes to get what belongs to them? If government had been paying these monies these unions are fighting over as they ought to have been paying, the present rancor would have been averted. Till we have a people-centric government, we will keep going round in vicious circles. 1 Like |
