Hypocrisy is not New in nigeria. In fact it started before independence and it revealed itself even during the the first coup.

The coup was called an Igbo coup (even though it's not) by many Nigerians especially the northerners but the simple question they cannot ask themselves is_ Did major kaduna Nzeogu and the rest of the coup plotters Carry out the coup alone?

The answer is No. They didn't and they are not capable of doing it alone. They used the same nigerian troops which was and is still dominated by the northerners to successfully Carry out the coup.

The one that shocked me was that Nzeogu did his own successfully in the northern Nigeria with the same northern troops! Now these same northerners after the coup, turned around to blame nndigbo for killing their leader when they were the troops used to carry out the act. Is this not hypocrisy?

Nothereners weren't really that dominant in military then ,because we were practising regionalism.

Gowon who abolished regionalism with the creation of 12 states paved way for northern dominance.

He created 12 states, north had 6 while south east, south west, and south south shared the remaining 6 states.

That was the beginning of the northern oligarchy and dominance in politics. North that has one region took 6 states, while south that has 3 regions shared the remaining 6. Subsequent northern military head of states consolidated on that to further expand the northern States to 19 states out of 36 states. That is the nail on the coffin that finally handed the dominance of Nigeria to the northerners.

Yakubu Gowon is the enemy of Nigeria, and the father of the evil foundation of this nation.

You are either poorly informed or you are deliberately mischievous. The cause of the revolt was not non participation by northern soldiers, it is the betrayal by IBO soldiers who rather than kill the IBO politicial leaders then but allow them to escape instead. That was the beginning of the mistrust against IBO's in Nigeria! If you think you are clever then be ready for the consequence.

That's not true...at least historically. The ibo boys betrayed their fellow soldiers from the other region making them look like a fool so they all retaliated against Igbo. That's the real issue

That not the view of the northerners I'm talking about. For them, nndigbo killed their leaders especially their highly respected Tafawa Balewa and so, nndigbo must be massacred in return. That was even the main reason for the progorom.

You're very wicked, insensitive and inhumane. if u know how painful the exit of Northern political class in that coup is still in the mind of even children in the north you won't have put this thread. The death of our golden sons is afresh in our mind as if they died yesterday, we always mourn their death.
May be it's not yet time for you people to know how painful it's but keep mocking us about their death may be one day you'll know.
Sardauna was kind and treated people of all tribes and religion equally, we didn't know tribalism and ethno-religious misunderstanding in the North untill after his exit our enemies came and plant the bomb of ethno-religious crisis among us. Both Sardauna and Tafawa Balewa were falsely accused of mismanagement of resources untill after their death when it's discovered that Tafawa Balewa died a poor man; left only TV given to him by Queen of England, 3 set of clothes and some debt which he couldn't clear as prime minister of Nigeria. The same with Sardauna, he left nothing special, no wealth or money.

Oh oh, another thread for Igbo people to masturbate and moan about the first coup

The only tribe that does not have shame, and will never tell themselves the truth talkless of other people.

Stop drugs, mba, you say all hustle na hustle. Teach your kids the real history of the war, na lie! You must blame other people for the mess your haughtiness, pride and tribalistic mindset brought on yourselves.

You didn't know tribalism? Even the devil cannot tell this lie. Who then killed nndigbo during the 1953 kano genocide and 1945 jos riots? Spirits?

Keep trying to shift goal post. You participated in the killing of your leader and shifted the whole blame on nndigbo. Nigeria is really a funny county.

Look at who is talking about crime. Your region is HOME to two deadly groups and they are known all over the world. Oh yes, you people have made them feel at home there. Which drugs are you talking about? The one that your youths and women take on a daily basis? Bia take your time oh.

You are wrong. IBO soldiers allo their own leaders to escape the coup but killed northern leaders and Yoruba leaders...that's the cause of the bitterness. IBO's started it.
