Salford my guy. cheesy

LMAO. I'm not a "hardcore" Trump supporter, I just detest many aspects of the progressive style of leadership.

I don't want to go into politics so I won't be commenting further on Trump. We've already argued enough on that thread about his policies and racism. grin

Hungary taking stance on illegal immigration is not bad and it is one of the countries I would love to visit in my lifetime. Even the style of leadership in Poland is impressive except a little of their extreme right wing policies.

It just takes 2 seconds for the citizens to revolut against the progressive style of leadership in Canada if it gets unbearable. Take a look at Germany with what Merkel did in 2015 or so with refugees and how it played out with Germans.

Take a look at Sweden too and their refugee crisis which was caused by progressivism. Lol. If Canada starts taking in "too many" migrants (refugees especially) without adequate plans just because they don't want to discriminate or be racist, people will vote your Zaddy Trudeau out of leadership asap. You think everyone in CA likes his style of leadership?

Canada is also very different from the USA, there were other reasons why Trump was elected.

Anyways Biden will be taking over in some days time, let's see what he can do. Still not a fan though. wink

And as for Canada casting for Nigerians, thank you for your input. I guess it wouldn't be casting soon. I like their style of selection.

Activist001:

I know. The guy is talking about Hungary and their sort of "anti-immigration" stance when it comes to refugees.

All I was saying is that if Canada goes full progressive and starts to accept refugees left right and center and open up all their borders, people will become angry with the government and (potentially) vote them out.

Their immigration policy right now is cool if you ask me. They're just milking other developing countries of their skilled individuals which is good for their country and the immigrants themselves so it's a win win situation. The only one loosing is the country those migrants came from - Nigeria in this case. grin

I don't know why he's comparing the immigration policies of the USA with a population of 320m+ people to Canada with a population of less than 40m people with Canada having a bigger land mass.

Canada will surely be more immigrant friendly than the US because they need more people to pay taxes and they have a more aging population than the US.
I know you are one of Trump's supporters on here. So that was my reply was the way I typed it grin

This line of anti-immigrants and populism doesn't work here in Canada. Only if you know the amount of refugees Canada has been accepting for years and still accepting. Aslong as you are a genuinely fleeing persecution. When I became a citizen, the Minister of immigration that signed my certificate was originally a refugee from Somalia. He came to Canada in 1994. We welcomed thousands of refugees from Syria and most recently from the US. Churches, organizations and private citizens can apply for refugees to move here.

One stupid conservative leader (Maxime Bernier)
from Quebec broke away from the regular conservative party here after he started a discussion about Canada accepting too much immigrants. The mainstream conservative here did not buy his ideas. He formed his own party with an ideology similar to that of the republican party under Trump on the US - meaning he leaned further to the right. He got a few deplorables on his side.

Guess what happened, the citizens came for him and shut him down for his racism. He came at position 6 out of 6 in the last federal election. He also lost his riding while he was at it. Prior to losing his rising because of his anti immigrant and nationalist stance, his dad held that seat for 13 years, while he himself held it for 12 years before deciding to lean further to the right He is politically finished now after the rebuke grin
Read up:
https://foreignpolicy.com/2019/10/20/canada-maxime-bernier-populism-peoples-party/

Ps - The ideology of the mainstream conservative party here is very similar to central politics in the US i.e. not too far from Joe Biden's ideology. I almost voted conservative in the last Canada's federal election sef. AOC, Bernie, Rasheeda and co in the US will be right at home with the governing Liberal Party of Canada Lol

It's a case of settling for Oats because there's no refined flour to bake bread...

In the long run, the overall standard would be reduced significantly.

The effects of Brain drain is seen after a long while...

Lemme give you an example, most of the best specimens of physicality and athletism were identified, selected and shipped out for slavetrade hundreds of years ago cutting out that genepool from Africa. In the Olympics today which countries dominate physically explosive sports- Athletics for example 100 Meters 200 and 400Meters? African/black Ancestry right? Now trace the origins of those Athletes... then ask yourself how come original west Africans (for example Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast etc) are nowhere to be found in that sport? Simple, because the best Physical Genes were selectively picked out.... Apart from the technicalities of the sport which can be taughtby good academies, raw physical talent is important because it can't be taught.

Thats how brain drain works, in the long run the effects will be evident.
Re: Will Canada "Cast" For Nigerians Soon? by bamangar: 5:13pm On Jan 16, 2021
It will not cast. Look ehhh, the fact you hear Nigerian shouting "Canada... Canada", you may think up to 1 million Nigerians have already migrated to that country.. It's just the shout and hype. There are less than 150k Nigerian in Canada. Canada granted PR to up to 12,250 Nigerians in 2019. Also, there are 15k Nigerian students in Canada.

Canada immigration is straightforward, genuine and constructive that I doubt if it will cast.. The even want more skilled workers

These are my thoughts too! Africa is loosing so many skilled individuals everyday because of our shitty leaders. It's sad. sad

Those who come over to the west send home billions each year. On top of that, some will purchase or build homes, while spending millions if not billions on visits. People leaving helps the economy more than you think.

It seems like the reply was meant for a different post instead of mine.

Gladly. I lived in the UK for a couple of years before I moved to Canada. I had a university education in the UK; hence, the name Salford..

Anyway, where in my post did I mention that racism doesn't exist in Canada ? I said we detest racism, discrimination, Trump's style of politics e.t.c, atleast the majority of people here detest such.

Unlike the UK, Canada is a country of migrants meaning the majority of whites here are recent immigrants themselves. Within 2 years, I lost count of the amount of time I was told to go back to where I came from when I lived in the UK. Almost a decade here in Canada now and not one single incident.

Telling me not to get comfortable. GTFOH grin
Actually, I am getting very comfortable and even getting more comfortable as the day goes by. You can't really understand. I doubt if you have ever lived in Canada, so I will pardon your ignorance
. wink

My only regret is that I discovered Canada later. I should have moved here for studies instead of going to the UK, but all my siblings live in London, England, so it was natural that I leaned towards UK before I thought of Canada. However, I have caught up with my peers here and doing great.

Cheers!

Ps: Canada has always accepted immigrants, mostly from Europe, Asia and Africa. People just do not fancy that it is an extremely cold country. I have met Nigerians that have been here since the 1990s. Heck, a Nigerian graduated from the University of Saskatchewan Pharmacy program in the 1950s. The skilled program has been around for over 3 decades. It just recently became popular due to social media and affordable internet.

As per Brexit, Brexit was more of shutting out fellow European nationals. Especially those from Eastern Europe being governed by anti immigrant and dictators like Viktor Orban of Hungary and a few others that of turned those countries to latrine pits of Europe.. I can't find any similarities between migrating to Canada and Brexit.

I've met Nigerians in Canada who were born in Canada in the late 70's to mid 80's.

It isn't only about genes, athletes in USA (UK and Canada) are well taken care off to focus on their sport and train as hard as their bodies would allow. When I was in school, I used to see some state athletes that looked like they were living in squalor even though they were state athletes.

Even Jamaica has a few dedicated athletics club (sprinters and medium distance runners) where athletes are groomed.

Canada is not for everyone. Just research properly before embarking on the journey.

That said, Canada's population is slightly under 40m while America that has about the same land mass has a population of about 350m. So the immigration policy is not going to change any time soon.
I used to think the same way until I made my research, 70% of Canada's landmass is inhabitable, unless you wan freeze, only the far South(very close to the US Border line is habitable and still cold as hell

Everyone is talking about Canada, many Nigerians are fleeing Nigeria to Canada every day. My mind tells me the country might "cast" for Nigerians soon because anything Nigerians do en masse doesn't always end well, just name it - business, profession, school e.t.c.

Please note that i'm not trying to discourage anyone from fleeing to Canada or anywhere outside this hell hole of a country, I am also planning to japa soon. grin

Guys, what do you think? Will Canada cast for Nigerians soon? Will it become harder to immigrate to due to some shitty things some of our countrymen MIGHT indulge in like visa overstays, marriage fraud (for papers), scams e.t.c?

You are right it's not only about the genes, however talent (enhanced physicality) plays a very crucial role in sports. For instance, in Korea, Japan and China, training academies for athletes are taken very seriously (trust them Asians when they want to train),
The hi tech equipment obtainable in those academies outclass what you would typically find in Jamaica or the Bahamas but in the end, who constantly pours out the talent for both genders?

This was actually a research question...
Re: Will Canada "Cast" For Nigerians Soon? by 79733139(m): 4:18am On Jan 17, 2021
Once you remove sprinting from the equation, Korea, Japan and China are way more successful in sports than Jamaica and Bahamas. Sure West Africans have a slight genetic edge when it comes to sprinting but a huge portion is about the amount of dedicated training. And you don't need hi tech equipment for sprinting.

Genetics gives you a slight edge but at the end it boils down to dedicated training. We have athletes in Nigeria that have to survive on bread, beans and coke most of the times, such athletes wouldn't be able to give their best.

Back then and even till now Canada doesn't really advertise themselves like other developed nations. Hence why people use to run to America or UK, and they're now in Canada. Those countries are professional marketing firms. Also the stereotype that Canada is unberiably cold.

Lastly, Canada is surrounded by ocean to the east and west, then America to the south, and the north pole to the north. It's the hardest country to sneak into honestly.

Every western nation has an aging population. Germany didn't let all those arabs in because they are nice people. Canada is now popular because they don't play any games with people's lives and they're honest. If you have what we need or want, we'll give you PR. Then in 3 years if you behave yourself we'll give you citizenship. No games whatsoever. I have people in the US and UK running to Canada. They fell for the hype.

Moreover, EE isn’t the only pathway to canada. Even though some yahoo boys have what it takes to go thru EE, they also hav the cash to buy their ways to canada. They are mostly based in Toronto.

Recently, the RCMP bursted a crime syndicate of mostly Nigerians that specialized in shipping stolen vehicles from canada to Nigeria. As you rightly said, the people do not regard every nigerian as a criminal because of a few bad ones
